Expected price to be around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG India has announced that it will be unveiling the Windsor EV on September 11, 2024. MG has been vigorously testing and simultaneously teasing the electric crossover lately on a full swing. With only a few weeks remaining before we get to see the Windsor EV in flesh, let's take a look at all that we know so far about the upcoming EV.

The MG Windsor EV features a clean and subtle front design. A connected LED DRL strip spans the car's width at the top, as seen on the smaller Comet EV while the large LED headlamps are positioned lower within the bumper. Unlike the MG Comet EV, the Windsor EV’s charging ports are situated on the side fenders. Below, a large air intake grille is integrated into the bumper to help cool the batteries.

At the rear, the MG Cloud EV continues with its minimalist style, characterized by rounded proportions and a connected LED tail light that extends across the car's width, similar to the MG Comet EV. These distinctive lighting elements ensure that the Windsor EV stands out on the road.

The interior of the MG Windsor EV interior layout embodies a sleek and minimalist dashboard design, featuring soft-touch materials accented by gold elements. The centre stage of the dashboard is taken by a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that controls nearly all the vehicle’s key functionalities, complemented by an 8.8-inch digital display for the driver providing all the vitals of the vehicle.

The Windsor EV could also get automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, and power adjustable driver’s seat. Earlier teased videos have also revealed that the Windsor EV will get lounge-like seating for the rear passengers with seats upholstered in luxurious quilted leather, adding a premium touch to the cabin.

The safety features are anticipated to include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control as standard across the range. Additionally, the Windsor EV may come with an electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill-hold and hill-descent control, a 360-degree surround view camera paired with front and rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. ADAS tech such as emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, and adaptive cruise control are also likely to be offered. While the international spec variants lack a sunroof option, the Indian model is anticipated to feature a panoramic sunroof.

The MG Windsor EV, which is available in international markets as the Wuling Cloud EV, is equipped with a 50.6 kWh battery pack that powers a front-wheel-drive motor churning out 136 PS and 200 Nm. The EV boasts a CLTC claimed range of up to 460 km on a full charge. In other international markets, there is the option of a smaller 37.9 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 360 km.

The MG Windsor EV is expected to be launched around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete against other EVs in the market like the Mahindra XUV400, Tata Nexon EV and lower variants of the Tata Curvv EV.
