MG Motor India has introduced the Windsor Pro, a higher-end, feature-rich iteration of its all-electric Windsor EV. Priced above the Essence variant, the Windsor Pro adds a raft of updates such as a bigger battery, additional features both inside and outside, and new features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability. Here is everything you want to know about the new model:
Visually, the Windsor Pro is much like the regular model, but closer inspection finds some improvements. You’ll spot the Windsor Pro by its:
New 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels
New exterior colours: Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red
ADAS badge on the tailgate

The overall shape remains identical to the standard Windsor, but the Pro’s detailing gives it a slightly more upmarket, purpose-built EV vibe.

Inside, the cabin follows the same clean and functional theme but throws in a few upmarket touches to merit the 'Pro' badge. MG has refreshed the upholstery, and now, there’s a new dual-tone ivory interior, which is different from the regular Windsor.
The largest update is the 52.9 kWh battery pack, which pushes the claimed range to 449 km (MIDC).

That's about 118 km more than the regular Windsor, which offers a 331 km range, a giant leap for consumers who've been waiting for something that allows them to munch on more miles.

The Pro trim adds a number of new features:
Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking.

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging abilities.
Powered tailgate for convenience.

These features complement others such as the 15.6-inch infotainment touch screen, 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, 9-speaker Infinity audio, ventilated front seats, glass roof, and 135-degree reclining rear seats.
MG retails the Windsor EV Pro on a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, enabling buyers to buy the vehicle without the battery for Rs 12.49 lakh.

In this model, the battery is leased separately, lowering the initial cost and providing an option for flexible ownership.
MG Motor India has provided both ownership options. Below is a table depicting where the new MG Windsor EV Pro stands in the lineup, along with pricing for both battery rental (BaaS) as well as for full ownership plans, i.e. without BaaS:

The MG Windsor EV Pro will go on bookings starting May 8. The launch price of Rs 17.49 lakh is being offered for the initial 8,000 bookings. This Pro is placed over and above the current Excite, Exclusive, and Essence variants, with more features and performance for those who want a ‘Pro’ experience.
With the Windsor Pro, MG is making the EV market not only relevant but actually appealing. More range, more features, and a price that still beats many electric SUVs?

Sounds like a winner for family buyers who want to plug into the EV experience without sacrifice. It could even be a good deal for fleet operators wanting a comfortable cruiser with a decent range.
