Tata Motors has launched the all-wheel-drive variants of the 2025 Harrier EV, priced from Rs 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Yes, like paying your credit card EMI, there’s finally a Tata car that powers all four wheels straight from the showroom and is launched "fully".
The AWD setup is exclusive to the top-spec Empowered trim and gets paired with the larger 75 kWh battery pack. Here’s what all it packs:
Here’s a look at the variant-wise prices:

As you can see, the AWD variant commands a premium of Rs 1.5 lakh over the standard rear-wheel-drive setup with the same battery pack.

This isn’t just AWD for Instagram. Tata’s gone full send on capability:
Approach Angle: 25.3 degrees
Breakover Angle: 16.6 degrees
Departure Angle: 26.4 degrees
Terrain Modes: Normal, Custom, Rock Crawl, Snow/Grass, Mud Ruts, Sand
Off-Road Assist: Automatically maintains a steady speed over tricky surfaces
Want to see what’s under the car while crawling over boulders? There’s even a Transparent View mode built into the 360-degree camera system.

Step inside, and the Harrier EV looks tech-ridden. The dashboard is anchored by a massive 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Complementing it is a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, while other convenience features include dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, and ventilated, powered front seats.

The aural experience is handled by a 10-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos, ensuring your playlists sound as dramatic as your drives.
As for performance, the AWD-equipped Harrier EV is no slouch. Thanks to a dual-motor setup, it produces a hefty 396 PS and 504 Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds with the help of a Boost Mode. In contrast, the RWD variants get a single motor that delivers 238 PS and 315 Nm.
The AWD version isn’t just about traction; it’s got serious bite.

Range anxiety shouldn’t be a concern either, as Tata claims an MIDC range of 622 km for the AWD version. That’s only marginally lower than the RWD version with the 75 kWh pack, which boasts 627 km. Fast-charging capability is on offer too, with a 120 kW DC fast charger taking the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 25 minutes. Tata is also offering a lifetime warranty on the battery pack, adding peace of mind to the ownership experience.

Safety, as always, remains a strong point. The Harrier EV already boasts a 5-star Bharat NCAP crash test rating, and it backs that up with a long list of safety features.

There are 7 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), a 540-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and Level-2 ADAS, making it one of the most safety-equipped cars in its segment.
The Tata Harrier EV steps into a segment that’s heating up fast. Its most direct rivals are the BYD Atto 3 and the Mahindra XEV 9e, both of which target buyers looking for an electric SUV with presence and performance.

For those willing to spend more, the Harrier EV makes a strong case as a more affordable alternative to premium EVs like the BYD Sealion 7 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, without compromising on equipment or capability.
Bookings for the Harrier EV open on July 2, with deliveries expected to commence shortly thereafter.
On paper, it looks like Tata has gone all out with the Harrier EV AWD, big power, dual motors, real off-road angles, and a tech-loaded cabin.
We will shortly get behind the wheel of the Tata Harrier EV, so stay tuned for our detailed review!
