No car is perfect, and that applies to the Harrier EV as well!

The Tata Harrier EV Is Not Perfect! Here Are 4 Things That Would Have highlights

The Tata Harrier EV has arrived in India at an attractive price for what it offers, and there are plenty of reasons to buy one if you are looking for a mid-size SUV that offers almost everything that you need. However, the Harrier EV is not perfect and there are some places where it could have been a tad bit better. So in this report, we take you through the 4 things that could have made the Harrier EV’s overall package better.

Let’s get started:

Better Underthigh Support

One place where the Harrier ICE excels over the EV is the overall sense of space inside the cabin. While there is enough kneeroom, legroom and headroom even for a 6 foot tall occupant, the underthigh support has been compromised and that is mainly due to the raised floor. You also sit in a slightly more knees-up position here which means that the EV hasn’t come without compromise when compared to the diesel-version.

Better Boot Space

Tata has opted to give a space saver spare wheel, which means that the boot floor has been raised. Due to this, the boot space takes a hit. If you use cabin-sized trolley bags, you could possibly fit in 3-4 of those and have some space left over for a backpack or two. Using medium or large-sized suitcases will take up most of the boot. So our recommendation would be to use smaller-sized bags.

The good thing is that it gets 60:40 split functionality, which means that if you fold down the rear seats, you get 999-litres of boot space.

Interior Trim Choices

Tata is offering different interior colour schemes based on the variant you opt for, and while that’s not a bad, the top-spec variant should have been given more customization options. So if you go with the top-spec Empowered variant, you get a bespoke white-grey colour theme. However, the Adventure and Fearless/Stealth variants come with a tan-black and all-black colour palette respectively.

The colour schemes available with the mid-spec variants look as premium as the dual-tone shade available with the top-spec variant. Moreover, they will also be far easier to keep clean in India’s dusty conditions.

What Tata could have done is offer more trim choices for the top-spec variant’s interior as the white and grey theme is not very India-friendly.

Some Extra Features For The Rear Seats

While the Harrier EV is loaded to the brim with features that will spoil you, it should have come with these extra features for the second row to make it a better deal. For starters, it could have been offered a rear wireless charger to make charging more seamless for rear seat occupants.

Rear ventilated seats would have made the second row feel much more comfortable, and a rear entertainment screen would have been perfect to keep passengers entertained during longer journeys, traffic situations or when you are charging the car at a public charging point.

The abovementioned things are not complete red flags, and most of the buyers would be okay to ignore them. However, certain premium rear seat features and even the option to choose your preferred interior colour scheme should be offered at the price point.
