Tata Harrier EV Aces The Bharat NCAP Crash Test With A Perfect 5 Star Rating!

The Tata Harrier EV, which was recently launched and has caught attention for all the right reasons, has scored a perfect 5 stars rating in the Bharat NCAP safety crash test! 

The Harrier EV scored 32 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection (COP). This led to a 5 star rating in both the parameters.  Here is your detailed look at its crash test results: 

Adult Occupant Protection 

Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test Score: 16 out of 16 

Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test: 16 out of 16

During the frontal impact, all parts of the driver and co-driver, including the head, neck, chest, knees and feet, received good protection. 

Coming to the side impact, all parts, including the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis, showed good protection. In the side pole impact test, too, all body parts were well protected. 

It's rare to find a car that protects every region perfectly, and the Harrier EV belongs in that category. 

Child Occupant Protection

Dynamic Test Rating: 24 out of 24

As for the child Occupant Protection, the Harrier EV scored 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test using the child restraint systems. For the 18-month-olds' protection, the dynamic score was 8 out of 8 for the front protection and 4 out of 4 for the side protection. 

The 3-year-old child also received perfect protection for both frontal and side impact. 

Harrier EV Safety Features

The Harrier EV comes with safety features such as ABS with EBD, 7 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control (ESC), both front and rear parking sensors, auto-park assist, a summon mode, a 540-degree camera and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

Price And Rivals 

The Harrier EV’s price ranges from Rs 21.49 lakh to Rs 27.49 lakh for the RWD variants (ex-showroom). It rivals the Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3. The Harrier ICE is a 5-star rated SUV, and we were expecting the Harrier EV to also get the perfect score. However, what's more impressive is that it has scored a perfect rating in the AOP test, providing good protection to all parts of the body.
