About Bajaj Pulsar 220 F

The Pulsar 220F is one of Bajaj’s most popular and longest-running bikes. It has not received a major update since 2008, when the fuel-injected version was discontinued for a carburetted one. In fact, the bodywork has remained the same since the first Pulsar 220. Yet it still sells in large numbers even today simply due to the fact that you can buy a larger 220cc faired motorcycle for 160cc motorcycle money. The Pulsar 220 F’s feature list includes a bright projector headlamp, semi-digital instrument console, LED tail lamp and clip-on handlebars. While the first generation Pulsars got fuel injection, it was replaced with a carburetted setup which not only made more power but was more-affordable as well. It is available in 2 two-tone colours: Black/Blue and Black/Red. The Pulsar 220F uses a BS4-compliant 220cc single-cylinder engine churning out 21PS and 18.55Nm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. It also comes equipped with an Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) that recycles vaporising fuel. The Pulsar 220 F employs a dual cradle frame suspended on a conventional telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shocks. Braking duties are handled by a 260mm disc brake up front and a 230mm disc at the rear, with single-channel ABS as standard. Its 17-inch alloy wheels come shod with 90-section front and 120-section rear tubeless tyres. Bajaj has priced the 220F at Rs 1,08,326 (ex-showroom Delhi) and it goes up against the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer SF Fi, which is priced at Rs 93,032 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F Overview

Bajaj has confirmed it will continue manufacturing and selling the Pulsar 220F even though its spiritual successor, the Pulsar F250, is here. The iconic motorcycle has witnessed consistent demand over the years despite its outdated design and mechanicals. If you’re wondering why Bajaj is still offering the motorcycle, read our report here.

Q. Pulsar 200ns or pulsar 220f, which one is best?
  • Both machines are absolutely perfect for indian market. I personally like 200 Ns better than 220F but that's my preference of naked sports over fender bikes. But keep in mind pulsar 220 was fastest indian bike for straight few years and that is for a reason.
  • What are your needs.. Depends on that. Every vehicle is different and serves a purpose. Need a semi fared with good absorb on bumpy roads 220Need a Naked for streat fighter look. And more focus to engine then ns200
  • Both bikes have there good quality. What is u r need and what is u r requirements. It's depends upon it. NS 200 has a ABS but it's a single channel. It has clock seating posture is good. Looking slightly hard seat. But 220 has no ABS no clock. Not so informative display. But it's looking really nice.. I think u should go with NS 200. It has high BHP than 220. Means high pick up. So go for it
