With 8PS of power and the 8.7Nm of torque on a mere 98kg body, the TVS Scooty Zest 110 is nimble and how. It has been my regular ride to office during peak hours and of course for me local errands and I am now starting to prefer it over any motorcycle. Aside from the fact that it is absolutely convenient evading the need for constant gear shifts, it has just the right amount of power if you need to pass someone. And then considering its small dimensions it is easily finds its way through busy streets.
While the engine sure is peppy and fun to ride, it is extremely efficient too. Having ridden it for more than 1100km, the Scooty Zest 110 has constantly been returning an efficiency of around 51 kilometres to a litre of fuel, all in the city. And then there is the huge underseat storage space for you to dump a load of stuff.
The 110mm drum brakes up front and the 130mm ones at the rear do a phenomenal job. There is ample of feedback too. But sadly overtime they were starting to get a little spongy. That said, TVS has taken care of the play and the gradual loss of bite in the first service. Aside from the brakes though, cold starting is sometimes an issue, but once you get it a little heated up, it doesn't throw any tantrums whatsoever.
Yes, it has chick written all over it, and I do have strangers giving me crooked looks, but that won’t quite hold me back from stating that it is in fact one of the most fun scooters I have ridden in a long time. Sadly though, it is now time to hand over the keys to the newest member in the ZigWheels team. Over to you Kapil Angane.
