The DesertX packs performance and features that can make the Tiger 900 Rally sweat

Ducati India intends to treat enthusiasts to a tasty bite of hardcore adventure on December 12. Why you ask? Well, that’s the day we will witness the Ducati DesertX make its debut on Indian soil. In fact, some dealerships have even initiated pre-bookings for this motorcycle ahead of its launch.

The Ducati DesertX is essentially a modern day rendition of the Paris-Dakar rally bikes from the 1980s. Powering it is the 937cc, L-twin, liquid-cooled mill, which is also seen in the Multistrada V2, Hypermotard 950, Supersport 950 and the Monster. It has been tuned differently though, to produce 110PS and 92Nm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

This upcoming Ducati bike is expected to be launched with a price tag of around Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and will take the fight to the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and the BMW F 850 GS.
