A comprehensive look at how Tata has specced the variants of the all-new Tigor compact sedan

Tata Tigor

The Tata Tigor has been launched in India with a very aggressive price tag. The petrol variants of the Tigor are priced between Rs 4.70 lakh and Rs 6.19 lakh, while the diesel variants of the Tigor are priced from Rs 5.60 lakh to Rs 7.09 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Let's find out what each variant gets for the money it demands.

Tigor XE

Petrol variant - Rs 4.70 Lakh. Diesel variant - Rs 5.60 Lakh.

Tata Tigor

The base Tigor XE variant is offered with body coloured bumpers, a wide LED high-mount stop lamp, LED taillamps, chrome strip on the front grille and hub covers for the 13-inch steel wheels.

Inside, the XE variant is fitted with a dual-tone interior theme, bottle and cup holder in the front centre console, a bottle holder in the door pads, chrome insert on the gear knob, a 12V power outlet in the front and collapsible grab handles. The XE variant does not get an entertainment system as standard.

Tata Tigor

The instrument console gets a 2.5-inch multi-information display which shows a digital clock, gear-shift display, 2 trip meters, average fuel-efficiency and distance-to-empty. Additionally, the instrument cluster has warning lights for the door operation and a key-in reminder.

Multi-drive modes for both the diesel and petrol motors are offered as standard on the Tigor. The XE variant also gets a manual air conditioner, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, a driver foot rest, and internally adjustable outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs). The front and rear seats get fixed headrests on the Tigor XE. Central locking is standard, though it has to be activated or deactivated with the key. Power windows are not offered, even at the front.

The XE variant is spartan in terms of safety features - it is only available with an engine immobiliser.

Tigor XT

Petrol variant - Rs 5.41 Lakh (Rs 71,000 more). Diesel variant - Rs 6.31 Lakh (Rs 71,000 more)

On top of the features available in the base XE variant, the Tigor XT is offered with full wheel covers for the 14-inch wheels, body coloured outside door handles, body coloured ORVMs with integrated LED turn indicators and blacked-out B-pillars.

In addition to the the features on the XE variant, the Tigor XT is offered with fabric seats and a 12V power outlet for the rear passengers.

Tata Tigor

The Tigor XT is the first variant in the lineup to be offered with an infotainment system. Designed in conjunction with Harman, the ConnectNext system features a non-touch TFT screen with AM/FM, USB, Aux-In and iPod playback capability. The steering wheel gets controls for the infotainment system and to answer/reject phone calls. Music can be streamed from smartphones via Bluetooth.

Tata's App Suite (for Android phones only) can also be used to avail the turn-by-turn navigation assist and the Juke music streaming service. 4 speakers are offered with the units placed on the door pads.

The instrument cluster on the XT gets the additional driver seatbelt reminder warning. Additionally, LED fuel gauge display and temperature gauge display is also offered on the XT.

Tata Tigor

Comfort enhancing features such as a height-adjustable driver seat, adjustable front headrests, remote central locking, front and rear power windows, auto down driver window, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear seats with a foldable centre armrest with integrated cup holders, a cooled glovebox and a boot lamp.

Important safety features such as an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electric brake distribution (EBD), front fog lamps and rear parking sensors are standard on the XT variant. Other safety systems offered are a day/night internal rear view mirror (IRVM), speed-dependent auto door locks and follow-me-home headlamps.

Tigor XZ

Petrol variant - Rs 5.90 Lakh (Rs 49,000 more). Diesel variant - Rs 6.80 Lakh (Rs 49,000 more)

Now the Tigor starts to really to get kitted up. The XZ variant gets, over the XT variant, projector headlamps, alloy wheels (14-inch on the diesel variants, 15-inch on the petrol variants), chrome window trim and a chrome bezel around the fog lamps.

Inside, the additions include chrome surrounds around the centre AC vents and body coloured outer AC vents. The body coloured AC vents are only available with with the Berry Red or Copper Dazzle exterior paint. With other paint options, these come with a piano black finish.

Tata Tigor

The infotainment system is carried over from the XT variant, though the XZ variant gets two tweeters placed on the A-pillars.

The instrument cluster gets no additional features. Over the Tiago XT, comfort enhancing features on the XZ variant include, a vanity mirror for the co-driver and an electrical boot opening button on the centre console.

Additional safety equipment on the Tigor XZ include dual front airbags, front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters and a rear windshield defogger.

Tigor XZ (O)

Petrol variant - Rs 6.19 Lakh (Rs 29,000 more). Diesel variant - Rs 7.09 Lakh (Rs 29,000 more)

Tata Tigor

As the variant name suggests, there is not much that differentiates the XZ (O) from the XZ variant. From the outside, the XZ (O) looks no different and on the inside, it gets a knitted roof liner (which you would miss if you were not looking for it).

The centre console gets a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system connected to 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. The system also gets a voice recognition system, image and video playback functionality, navigation system (with Android phones only). The screen also doubles up as a display for the reverse camera.

An automatic climate control system is offered on this, the top-of-the-line XZ (O) variant of the Tigor which can be controlled via the touchscreen system, apart from the dedicated unit placed on the lower centre console.
