Nissan dropped a video teasing the Magnite facelift.
It will be launched on October 4, 2024.
It will feature tweaked cosmetic upgrades in the exterior including new lighting elements and alloys.
Likely to get a revised interior with updated amenities like a larger touchscreen for the infotainment and instrument cluster.
Expected to retain its existing powertrain options.
Nissan India has just dropped the first video teaser for the upcoming Magnite facelift, ahead of its October 4 launch. While there is not much to decipher from the short teaser, we got a glimpse of the new alloys it gets. The Japanese carmaker is coming with four new cars to get a grasp on the Indian market and the facelifted Magnite is the first in this queue.
The sub-4-metre SUV was previously spied testing under heavy camouflage and justifiably so, not much could be decoded then. This is the first time the Magnite is about to get an upgrade, since its inception on our land. It is expected to get a subtle restyling with its design language mostly remaining the same. Let us have a look into that in detail:
We expect the 2024 Nissan Magnite to feature certain tweaks in its exterior design with a new grille and updated lighting elements for the fascia. The silhouette will remain the same and new alloys add a breath of fresh air. The rear bumper will most likely be revised with more new design elements. We also expect the carmaker to introduce some new hues to its palette.
Much like the exterior, we don’t expect major upgrades inside the cabin. Of course, it will have certain updates accounting for its relevance compared to its competitors. It will likely have a larger touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display, along with existing kits such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, keyless entry, a wireless phone charger, an air purifier, and a reverse parking camera.
Safety quotient could see an update with the introduction of six airbags. Bits such as ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and rear parking sensors will be carried forward.
Mechanically, there’s no change that we expect under the hood. It will continue with the same 1-litre naturally aspirated engine that churns out 72 PS and 96 Nm and a more powerful 1-litre turbo petrol engine that gives an output of 100 PS and up to 160 Nm. The former can be had with a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT, while the latter can mated to a 5-speed MT and a CVT gearbox.
The currently available Magnite is priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 11.27 lakh (ex-showroom). One can expect a minor premium when the facelifted model is introduced. It competes against SUVs like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
