The need for eco-friendly and cost-effective powertrains is on the rise, and CNG vehicles fit into that category perfectly. Nissan is now offering a CNG retrofit kit along with its Magnite subcompact SUV at a premium of Rs 75,000 over the variant you opt for. While the SUV is offered with multiple engine options, the CNG kit will be available only with the entry-level petrol engine.
Here are all the details of the Magnite CNG:
Nissan has published that the CNG Kit is completely developed, and manufactured by Motozen (3rd Party) as per the country's Regulatory Standards. The fitment of these kits will be carried out at government-authorised fitment centres, and Nissan customers can order the kits via the Nissan authorised dealerships, spread out across 7 different states of the country. The states include Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka. This will later be expanded to other states across the country as part of Phase 2.
The Magnite CNG will be offered with the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which churns out 72 PS and 96 Nm. While the engine also comes with an AMT, Nissan has restricted the CNG kit to the manual version only, which features a 5-speed unit. The NA petrol engine can only be had without the CNG kit, with both manual and automatic transmission options.
The non-CNG version also comes with a turbo-petrol engine that can be had with a 7-speed CVT as well.
The Magnite CNG will mainly be an alternative to the Tata Punch CNG, the Hyundai Exter CNG, Renault Kiger CNG and the recently launched Citroen C3 CNG. Now let’s take a look at the variant-wise pricing:

With this move, the Magnite might attract some potential CNG customers who want a car that has greater dimensions than other CNG alternatives in the price range.
