The facelifted Nissan Magnite was launched in India in October 2024 and has now made its way to the Middle East countries starting with Saudi Arabia. This comes after the Japanese carmaker’s earlier exported to South Africa and a promise to extend it to 65 more nations.
Interestingly, the Magnite for the Arabs is the first in any region to be offered as a left-hand drive model. It is available in only three variants (S, SV and SL) unlike the 6 variants here in India and largely retains the same features and specifications as the one offered here.
The exported Nissan Magnite retains the same design as the India-spec model, featuring sharp LED projector headlights, L-shaped LED DRLs, fog lamps, and a large honeycomb-pattern grille with chunky chrome inserts at the front. On the sides, it sports 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, silver-finished roof rails, body cladding for a rugged stance, and chrome-finished door handles. At the rear, it gets sleek LED taillights.
In terms of colour options, it is available in 11 shades, including six monotone options: Pearl White, Blade Silver, Garnet Red, Vivid Blue, Onyx Black, and Sunrise Copper Orange. Additionally, the five vibrant colors can be paired with a dual-tone Onyx Black roof. However, the India-spec Magnite gets an extra ‘Storm White’ shade, which is not available in the exported version.
Except for the steering, which is now on the left side, the interior is the same as the India-spec model with a dual-tone black and orange theme with piano Black elements on the steering and some silver elements on the dashboard. It is equipped with features like 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker sound system, air purifier, keyless entry, push-button start/stop and cruise control.
Its safety features include a 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control and 6 airbags as standard.
The left-hand drive Nissan Magnite in Saudi Arabia is powered by a 1-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 PS and 152 Nm, paired exclusively with a CVT automatic, offering 17.3 kmpl fuel efficiency.
The India-spec Magnite also gets a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT options, along with a 5-speed manual for the turbo variant, giving buyers additional choice in India.
The Nissan Magnite has its prices starting from 66,699 SAR (approx Rs 15.37 lakh) in Saudi Arabia while the sub-4m SUV is sold at a much more humble price range between Rs 6.14 lakh to Rs 11.76 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. On our shores, it has plenty of rivals in its segment including the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3XO, Toyota Taisor and Renault Kiger. It can also be considered as a much more affordable alternative to the Kia Syros.
The Nissan Magnite has registered a good amount of sales globally attributing to its presence overseas alongside the Indian market. Now as the Japanese brand extends its footprint to the rich middle-eastern nations, it can bring in more success for the Magnite.
