Audi has taken the wraps off the new-gen A6 Avant, showcasing a shift from the elegant design of its predecessor to a sporty and mean look estate. It also boasts a completely revamped cabin, making it more appealing against key rivals like the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5 Series. At the moment, the A6 has been unveiled in its Avant (read: estate) bodystyle, but a sedan version could probably be in the works to debut later. New-gen Audi A6 Design 

Most of the new-gen A6's aggressive styling draws inspiration from Audi's latest design language, which was initially witnessed on its EV counterpart, the A6 e-tron. The stretched hexagonal grille gives it a bold appearance when viewed head-on, while the sleek LED headlights and sharp bonnet creases enhance its intimidating look.

From the sides, the 2025 A6 is sure to turn heads with its sloping roofline and aggressively styled alloys that are available in up to 21-inches in size. It also boasts flush-fitted door handles that not only adds a modern touch, but makes it more aerodynamic. At the rear, it features wraparound LED taillights with distinct lighting patterns, enhancing its futuristic yet sporty vibe. The roof-mounted spoiler (in the Avant version) and dual exhaust tips further enhances its presence.

Fun Fact: You can change the lighting signature of the DRLs and LED tail lamps to suit your taste. 

New-gen Audi A6 Interior

Inside, the new-gen A6 carries forward the same aggressive theme as the exterior with sharp lines and creases. The dashboard is highlighted by large screens for the infotainment system and digital driver’s display, while piano black accents add a premium touch. The predominantly black cabin theme enhances its sporty appeal, with variations of trims and colours available based on the trim. The 2025 A6 also includes a fixed panoramic glass roof with an electrochromic function, allowing occupants to adjust the light entering the cabin.

New-gen Audi A6 Features

The new-gen Audi A6 comes equipped with features such as a 14.5-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 11.9-inch digital driver's display, an optional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger, an augmented-reality-based heads-up display, connected car tech, ambient lighting, and a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system.

On the safety front, it gets multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera system with front and rear parking sensors, and ADAS features such as lane-keep assist, emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

New-gen Audi A6 Powertrain Options

Audi offers the new-gen A6 with two turbo-petrol and one diesel engine options globally. The 2-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 204 PS and 340 Nm of torque, while the 2-litre diesel engine produces 204 PS and 400 Nm. Meanwhile, the larger 3-litre turbo-petrol engine belts out a whopping 367 PS. The diesel and the more powerful turbo-petrol engine come with mild-hybrid tech, which gives an additional 23PS boost in short bursts. 

The petrol unit is paired with front-wheel drivetrain, while the diesel and larger turbo-petrol engine is paired to an all-wheel drive system. Transmission options include a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Engine specifications of the India-spec new-gen A6 is yet to be revealed.

New-gen Audi A6 Expected Price And Rivals 

Upon launch, the 2025 A6 will take on the likes of the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5 Series. We expect prices for the new-gen A6 to begin from around Rs 75 lakh(ex-showroom).
