Most carmakers are perfectly happy as long as they have a four-digit monthly dispatch figure for a model. For Maruti, the threshold is at least 4,000 to 5,000 units. Touching the 10,000 units per month figure for a car isn't a big deal for Maruti, it's habit. The Vitara Brezza, Alto, WagonR, Swift and Dzire have all touched the 10,000-unit production mark.
After breaching the 5-digit mark on several occasions, the Baleno went beyond and reached an average monthly production figure of 10,000. Thanks to the accelerated production in the last four months, buyers with long waiting periods should breathe a sigh of relief and get their Baleno sooner than expected.

Maruti Suzuki started its Nexa operations with the S-Cross, but its inflated price tag and hatchback profile didn't impress customers. The Baleno's price tag was a polar opposite in comparison, and its value-for-money pricing got the ball rolling at Nexa dealerships.
The hatchback has received multiple price hikes, but nothing managed to take this car off its tracks. The aggressive starting tag of Rs 4.99 lakh for the base trim with all the safety features helped it cement a solid place for itself and earned the priceless buyers' mindshare. The more affordable Ignis isn't going strong, and most of the footfall at Nexa dealerships still comes from potential Baleno buyers. The addition of the RS trim with a Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine and tasteful exterior touch-up have made the car an attractive option for customers who don't want to choose between reliability and speed.

R S Kalsi, executive director of marketing and sales at Maruti Suzuki, expressed gratitude towards the Baleno's customers and said, “Baleno was developed keeping in mind the tastes and requirement of global customers. It has disrupted the premium hatchback segment by not only dominating it but also expanding it multi-fold. While setting new benchmarks in design and technology, Baleno has received an unimaginable response in India as well as several international markets. We are very humbled with the success of Baleno. We thank all our customers for their support and patience despite huge waiting for delivery on Baleno.”
The made-in-India Baleno is also exported to over 100 countries including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Latin America.
