The Honda CBR650F has been spotted at dealerships of the Japanese manufacturer in Indore giving rise to speculation that the launch of the bike is soon. It is expected that the Honda CBR650F will hit Indian roads in August, 2015. He bike was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi and since then has created a lot of curiosity among Indian two-wheeler enthusiasts. The upcoming Honda motorcycle will be assembled in India and it will be the largest displacement motorcycle to be assembled by the Japanese two-wheeler giant in India. It was claimed that the Honda CBR650F would be priced aggressively owing to the fact that the bike will be put together in India. But Honda later announced that it has been unsuccessful in localising many components as expected and the CBR650F will be priced around Rs 8 lakh.

The Honda CBR650F is a not an outright supersports machine but a sports tourer. The bike will be pitched against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Benelli TNT 650GT in India. Talking about specifications, the Honda CBR650F houses a 649cc, liquid-cooled, in-line-four motor pumping out 87PS at 11,000rpm and 63Nm at 8,000rpm.This means that the Honda offering has an advantage of 15PS over the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and in terms of torque rating it’s just one Nm down. The motor is mated to a six-speed transmission. The Honda CBR650F employs a steel twin-spar frame while the swingarm has been crafted from aluminium. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm forks at front and preload adjustable monoshock setup at the back. Braking is done by disc brakes at front and rear while ABS will be standard. The Honda CBR650F will be among the 15 new Honda motorcycles that are scheduled to go on sale in 2015 in India.
