MRF is one of the biggest players in the Indian motorsports arena and presents the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) every year. In 2016, there will be five rounds of INRC (Nashik one being round 2) taking place across India. The pre-event press conference and the Round 2 shakedown of the INRC was held in Nashik.
The team consisting of Gaurav Gill and Musa Sherif won the rally with an overall time of 52 minutes and 8 seconds no other ream name attached to them?, followed by Arjun Rao and Satish Rajagopal as the first runners-up in 53 minutes and 12 seconds, and Amittrajit Ghosh and Ashwin Naik as the second runners-up with a timing of 53 minutes and 59 seconds. Bikku Babu and George Milen won the INRC 2000cc category with a time of 54 minutes and 33 seconds while KJ Jacob and Manoj Mohanan won the FMSCI Cup. Abhilash PG and Srikanth Gowda won in their category which one? in the Indian Rally Championship with a time of 55 minutes and 20 seconds, which ran concurrently with the INRC. Here's a list of winners and runners-up across various classes of INRC:

The director of Ramakrishna Race Performance Management Pvt. Ltd. and promoter of 2016 INRC and IRC, Arindam Ghosh, said, "We are happy to be back in Nashik, the only tarmac event of the season, which has given us extremely exciting events in the past. I am sure this year will be no different."
The 32 teams in the MRF Rally of Maharashtra include top drivers like Gaurav Gill, Amittrajit Ghosh and Sunny Sidhu of Team Mahindra Adventure as well as Arjun Rao Aroor, Rahul Kanthraj, Karna Kadur and others. The INRC received 27 entries for its various classes -- INRC Overall (upto 3500cc cars, including turbo factor), INRC 2000cc, FMSCI Cup for vehicles homologated prior to December 31, 2007, and Indian Rally Championship (IRC).
To talk a bit about the Indian Rally Championship, it is a separate championship which is being held alongside the Indian National Rally Championship. While only Indian drivers are eligible for the INRC, both Indian and foreign drivers in Indian or foreign cars are eligible to participate in the IRC. Another important distinction between the two is that in INRC, only two-wheel--drive Indian vehicles are allowed while four-wheel drive foreign vehicles are allowed in the IRC.
It must be noted that the INRC and IRC are two separate championships and their results are not clubbed together or compared since they run very different vehicles. Most importantly, the INRC is for two-wheel--drive Indian vehicles only, while the IRC allows four-wheel--drive foreign vehicles. Below is the schedule of 2016 season of INRC:
Date | Location |
July 23-24 | Coimbatore (Finished) |
August 27-28 | Nashik (Finished) |
September 17-18 | Gurgaon |
November 26-27 | Bengaluru |
December 3-5 | Chimagalur |
