…and the electric Flying Flea S6 shows what the future holds

Royal Enfield

There’s a certain romance to a brand that’s been around for over a century — and Royal Enfield knows exactly how to honour its heritage while also charging at full throttle into the future. As the marque celebrates 125 years of ‘Pure Motorcycling’, it has unveiled not one, but two machines that capture its spirit of its past and the promise of its future at the same time: the Royal Enfield Classic 650 125th Year Anniversary Edition and the Flying Flea S6.

A Classic For A Legendary Milestone

Commemorating 125 years since the very first Royal Enfield bike rolled out in 1901, the Classic 650 125th Year Anniversary Special Edition stands as a masterpiece of craftsmanship and legacy. The iconic teardrop tank and nacelle headlight remain unmistakably Classic, but the showstopper is the breathtaking ‘hypershift’ paint. It’s a mesmerizing color treatment that morphs between deep gold and classic red depending on the light and angle, adorned with a striking ‘125 Years’ crest in gold. Complementing all of this is a brown leather quilted seat that looks very exquisite, to say the least.

The Flea Takes Flight

If the Classic 650 is a salute to the past, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6 is a leap into the future. Revealed at EICMA 2025, this scrambler-styled EV blends heritage with high-tech innovation. The name “Flying Flea” harks back to the lightweight WWII motorcycles that were literally parachuted into war zones — and the S6 channels that same spirit.

Designed for both the city and the trail, the S6 is a lightweight, high-torque electric scrambler. An inverted fork, 19/18-inch wheel combo, chain drive (with a mahoosive sprocket), and enduro-style seat all contribute to its trail intent. The finned magnesium battery case isn’t just for show – it keeps weight low and cooling efficient. The round touchscreen cluster pays homage to the original Flying Flea’s simple gauges while offering modern-day connectivity.

The S6 is powered by Royal Enfield’s in-house OS, and a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor with 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity. Also present is navigation, traction control, switchable ABS, and an off-road mode — all accessible through the TFT or voice commands. Royal Enfield has also thrown in smartwatch and app connectivity for remote access to ride modes, charging, and diagnostics.

Days Of The Future Past

From the golden shimmer of the Classic 650 125th Anniversary Edition to the electric pulse of the Flying Flea S6 Scrambler, the brand continues to prove that legacy and innovation can coexist beautifully. Moolah wise, the Classic may command a premium of around Rs 20,000 over the current top-end Black Chrome, which retails at Rs 3.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

As for the Flea Scrambler, it might be priced at around Rs 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom). More importantly, Royal Enfield confirmed that it is planned to be launched at the end of 2026, so consider the EV to hit the Goan stage at Motoverse 2026.
