The Yamaha R3 and MT-03 were recently launched in India. So, this naturally begs the question “What accessories do these bikes get?”. Well, not too many, it seems. Let’s take a look:
In India, the Yamaha R3 gets only two types of accessories: a seat cowl and a windshield kit. The seat cowl ensures the tail section looks cleaner, and is available in two colour options: blue and black and both are priced at Rs 7,500. The windshield kit is priced at Rs 8,200 and consists of a taller, polycarbonate bubble-type windshield that will help reduce wind blast when you are covering long distances at high speeds.

Interestingly, the R3 in the UK gets tons of accessories options compared to India. For example, the R3 not getting a quickshifter isn’t a big problem if you are in the UK as it is available as an accessory for a price of £68.98 (approx Rs 7,259). Other accessories include a slip-on carbon fibre muffler from Akrapovic (Rs 78,412), Öhlins NIX 22 USD cartridge kit (Rs 1,24,282) along with the corresponding spring set (Rs 13,534), Öhlins STX 46 gas-charged monoshock (Rs 1,03,585), tank bag (Rs 17,693) and rear soft panniers (Rs 29,699, all prices are approximation of the corresponding UK prices) among others.

The Yamaha MT-03 gets just the seat cowl as an accessory, which is priced at Rs 7,500, as mentioned above.

In the UK, the MT-03 gets a wider range of accessories compared to the R3. On top of the accessories mentioned above for the R3, the MT-03 also gets heated grips (Rs 18,224), blacked-out flyscreen (Rs 12,641), wireless charging module (Rs 5,951) with a power cable for the wireless charger (Rs 1,896), soft side panniers (Rs 25,706), a rear luggage rack (Rs 13,696) and saddle stays (Rs 9,956, all prices are approximation of the corresponding UK prices) among others.

Yamaha is expected to shift to assembling the R3 and MT-03 in India if there’s enough demand in the future. If that happens, Yamaha could add more accessories, hopefully at a more accessible price point. Fingers crossed until then!
