Quick News Highlights:

- The upcoming Hero Xoom 125R has been spotted testing

- It gets the same sharp and aggressive styling as the model showcased last year at EICMA

- It is likely to be powered by the 2024 Destini 125’s engine

The Hero Xoom 125R was showcased by Hero MotoCorp at EICMA 2023 last year and the scooter has been expected to be launched by the end of 2024. And now the upcoming 125cc scooter has been spotted testing.

The model that has been spied looks exactly similar to the one showcased last year. It gets sharp design lines and has an aggressive stance. The tail section with the slim-looking dual LED tail light setup and the stubby exhaust look the same as well. The headlight’s design is similar to the Hero Xtreme 125R’s aggressive looking LED unit. When it was showcased last year, the manufacturer revealed that the Xoom 125R will be powered by a 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 9.4PS and 10.16Nm and the capacity, power and torque figure are almost exactly the same as that of the recently unveiled 2024 Destini 125. As such, the Xoom 125R could be powered by the same engine but with a different transmission setup to give the sporty scooter a peppier acceleration with a bit less focus on efficiency compared to the family-oriented scooter.

Talking about shared parts, the Xoom 125R is also likely to get the same LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts found in the Xoom 110. The 125R could get turn-by-turn navigation additionally. Other features include sequential turn indicators, which will be a segment-first feature in the scooter. The Xoom 125R gets a suspension setup consisting of a telescopic fork and a monoshock. Braking duties will be handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. However, Hero MotoCorp could also launch a front drum variant as well to keep the entry point of owning the scooter at an affordable price point. The upcoming scooter gets 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

With a near-production spec model having been spotted, we expect the Hero Xoom 125R to be launched somewhere around the festive period, probably in November 2024. It is expected to have a price tag between Rs 80,000 and Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the TVS NTorq 125, Yamaha RayZR 125, Honda Dio 125 and the Suzuki Avenis.
