Bengaluru based EV manufacturer, Ultraviolette Automotive, has entered France with the launch of its F77 electric e-bike series. This includes the F77 Mach 2 and F77 SuperStreet, and the electric bikes will now be available across ten European countries. Ultraviolette was the first Indian electric brand to enter the European market, and is now also the first brand to be launched in France.
Ultraviolette Automotive started off its European innings in Germany, UK, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, and is now available in France. The F77 Mach 2 and SuperStreet are priced at 8,990 euros and 9,290 euros respectively (Rs 8.95 lakh and Rs 9.25 lakh). These are introductory offer prices, valid until July 31, after which the prices will rise to 9,990 euros and 10,390 euros (Rs 9.95 lakh and Rs 10.34 lakh). These e-bikes are built in Bengaluru and then being shipped as fully finished products.
Both bikes, the F77 Mach 2 and F77 SuperStreet feature an electric motor which makes 30kW (at the motor) and 100Nm (at the wheel), paired with a 10.3kWh battery in the Recon version, which gets a claimed top speed of 155kmph and a range of up to 323km IDC (Indian riding conditions). The standard variant comes with a smaller 7.1kWh battery, offering a city-friendly range of 211km (claimed).
The Mach 2 gets clip-ons which helps in maintaining its sporty stance and an aggressive posture, while the SuperStreet is tuned for comfort. It gets a more relaxed riding triangle with an upright handlebar, perfect for everyday commuting and touring.
Ultraviolette already attained L3e certification, under the UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) regulation back in October 2024. This makes the F77 series eligible for A1 or A2 license holders in over 40 countries.
As an EV brand, Ultraviolette has been doing quite well and recently, it also showcased some interesting upcoming EVs like the Shockwave and the Tessaract. How will it perform in foreign markets? That's something we will see in upcoming months. That said, according to the pricing and specifications, it is quite clear that the F77 series sits higher than some of the already popular commuter EV brands in Europe like Super Soco and Horwin.
