The Skoda Slavia gets a facelift for the 2026 model year, which includes subtle new updates to the exterior and under the skin. The addition of a few segment-first features and the upgraded gearbox now makes the Slavia a tasty proposition.
While Skoda hasn’t announced the prices of the Slavia just yet, we have had a static experience of the new Slavia and let’s explore in detail what the new Slavia offers:
The exterior of the Slavia facelift has not changed much if you look at it from a distance. However, up close, you will notice that it looks more mature, grown-up, and perhaps more classy.

One of the main distinctions of the facelift is the redone front bumper. The previous bumper design looked busy, with edgier cuts and creases. But the new design takes a simpler approach. What is immediately noticeable is the new chrome strip which runs the width of the car on the bumper. It is tastefully designed thanks to its slim profile.

Key elements new to the Slavia are the LED fog lamps, which replace the old halogen lamps. The grille does carry the traditional Skoda butterfly design but subtly gets new elements like the faux carbon-fibre-like trim on the lower part of the grille. It also gets a subtly integrated chrome strip connecting the LED DRLs on either side. Speaking of which, new to the facelift are the segmented LED DRLs, which also double up as the indicators. The headlamp housing, though looking almost the same as the outgoing model, does get subtle new design updates, which keep the fascia looking fresh.

The side profile of the Slavia is almost identical to the outgoing model, except for the update to the alloy wheels. The 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels get a new 5-spoke design, which looks sportier than before.

The rear end of the Slavia, on the surface, also looks almost identical to the previous model. However, a key update here is the full LED tail lamp setup. Gone are the old-school halogen indicator and reverse bulbs, and in come the sequential turn indicators and the LED reverse lamps. Meanwhile, the tail lamp also follows the segmented design as on the DRLs.
Another design highlight is the new accent trim which connects the tail lamps and bears the ‘Skoda’ branding proudly on the tailgate.

Apart from these changes, the Slavia carries the same simplistic yet premium-looking rear end.
The interior of the facelifted Slavia is largely similar to the outgoing model. You’d be hard-pressed to spot a difference between the old and new one. However, one of the highlighted updates here is the digital driver’s display and the updated touchscreen infotainment. The driver gets a larger 10.25-inch display, which now also has a turn-by-turn navigation function.

The floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment remains in the same spot. The silver fin, which runs across the width of the dashboard, replaces the copper coloured strip on the outgoing model.

Apart from that, the Slavia’s interior is the same as before. The touch-controlled climate control panel, the two-spoke steering wheel and the overall layered dashboard design are carried over here.

On the backseat, there is nothing visually new to report. However, there is a new segment-first feature, that is the massaging seat. This was introduced in the Kushaq facelift and has now made its way into the Slavia facelift.

Though this is only for the backrest, it is a usable feature if you’re looking to relax in the back seat after a long day. This is definitely possible thanks to the generous rear-seat space and the supportive bolstering.
The Slavia was never known to have a great number of features, but it does pack in a good amount that doesn’t leave you wanting for much more. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system is updated with a new UI and includes a Google-powered AI assistant. It also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

This Slavia also gets a single-pane sunroof. This is fair since sedans usually don’t get panoramic sunroofs given the shape of the roof.

The old touchscreen climate control panel is also carried over. This facelift is said to get the upgraded AC system from the Kushaq, which is capable of cooling the cabin faster than before.

The Slavia also gets powered and ventilated front seats.
Other notable features include a wireless charger, cruise control and keyless entry.
The Slavia facelift gets a new 360-degree camera from the factory. Another new safety update is the addition of front parking sensors.

The Slavia also gets ABS with EBD, six airbags, and electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and hill hold assist (HHA). Do note that the Slavia has scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests, which adds to its safety credibility.
The Slavia facelift gets the same engine options as before. These include the 1-litre turbo petrol engine, which now comes with a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and a manual gearbox. The larger 1.5-litre engine gets the 7-speed DSG gearbox but no longer offers a manual gearbox option.

Powertrain specifications are as follows:
|
Engine |
1-litre turbo-petrol TSI |
1.5-litre turbo-petrol TSI |
|
Power |
115 PS |
150 PS |
|
Torque |
178 Nm |
250 Nm |
|
Transmission |
6-speed MT / 8-speed AT |
7-speed DSG |
MT- Manual Transmission, AT- Automatic Transmission (torque converter), DSG- Dual Clutch Transmission (automatic)

Both engines provide good punch and drivability in the city. Now that the 1-litre engine comes with the 8-speed gearbox, the fuel efficiency should improve over the last iteration. For most people, the smaller engine provides more than enough power for the city and highway duties. The larger engine, however, provides the extra effortless amount of power and greater highway manners.
Skoda has not announced the prices of the new Slavia, which is expected to launch next month. The Slavia facelift goes up against the likes of the platform sibling, the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and the Honda City.
The Slavia is among the clean and sophisticated-looking sedans in the segment. With this design update, it looks richer and more mature compared to the outgoing model.

The fact that this model also gets a new gearbox, which is said to improve fuel efficiency, and the addition of new features like the massaging seats and 360-degree camera only improve the Slavia’s appeal.
