Hyundai holds an image of offering the most futuristic cars, which are loaded with the latest tech and features, along with an impressive and unique exterior design. It's been quite some time since the carmaker released fresh updates of some of its products, ever since the launch of the new-gen Venue last year.
For 2026, Hyundai is expected to launch facelifts with a fresh design and new features for some of its best-selling models, so that they stay fresh and relevant in their respective segments. And this is not all, Hyundai is also expected to launch two new products in the Indian market, one of which might also be a sub-4m micro-SUV electric model.
Let's have a look at these new Hyundai models that will hit the roads soon:
Expected Price: Rs. 6 lakh to 10 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Hyundai Exter is one of Hyundai’s successful experiments in the Indian market, creating a huge market share in the micro-SUV segment. The Exter targets an audience who are looking for a car with SUV-ish looks but with the practicality of a hatchback, and the car does not disappoint. The Exter might be small in size, but it offers a generous amount of space and is loaded with all the features that you would expect at this price. It has been three years since the car was first introduced and Hyundai has given it multiple editions and powertrain updates time-to-time, but now the carmaker is expected to bring in a proper facelift with some exciting additions..

The Exter Facelift could feature a new, more funky front fascia, a redesigned rear profile, and new alloy wheels, while the overall silhouette is expected to remain the same. On the inside, Hyundai is expected to update the Exter’s cabin with a redesigned dashboard layout, new upholstery, and an updated feature list.
The facelifted SUV might see no changes under the hood, making use of the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which can also be had with a factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG setup. We expect the official reveal and launch of the Exter Facelift to take place anytime this month. .
Expected Price: Rs. 9 lakh to 15 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Hyundai Bayon is a popular sub-compact crossover in the international markets, and Hyundai is considering the same for a launch in India. Even though the crossover segment never got the amount of traction it needed in India, a crossover is a very practical body style. You can get the space of a sedan, the manoeuvrability of a hatchback, and a seating position similar to that of an SUV.

In the international markets, the Bayon has a very sharp and futuristic design. At the front, the connected DRLs might remind you of the Verna, below which is a very wide and blacked-out grille, which is further connected to the LED headlights with a smoked treatment. The rear also gets slim and sharp taillights, which are connected by a thin LED bar and a black panel.
On the inside, the Bayon is expected to boast good space, along with offering a large touchscreen infotainment screen and a digital driver's display. Other features that might be a part of the package include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and automatic climate control.

The Bayon could borrow its engine from the i20 N-Line, which uses a 1-litre turbo petrol engine and is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. In India, the Hyundai Bayon will compete against cars like the Maruti Fronx, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and Kia Syros. We expect that Hyundai should be revealing the India-spec Bayon before the Diwali festive season, while the official launch could take place around the same time
Expected Price: Rs. 48 lakh to 52 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Ioniq 5 is Hyundai’s flagship EV in India, which was launched in 2023. Ever since its launch, the car’s unique futuristic design has been its highlight and a unique selling point, to become one of the most popular EVs in the luxury segment.

Hyundai plans on making this package better with an updated version, which we had seen launch globally in 2024. The updated Ioniq 5 is expected to feature the same shape and silhouette but with sophisticated design and styling updates to the front and rear. On the inside, the Ioniq 5 Facelift could see the addition of multiple new features along with a revised dashboard design, which is expected to retain physical buttons.

A big change might come in the form of a new 84 kWh battery pack, which might be able to push the maximum range of the car to up to 700 kms (WLTP). Hyundai is expected to reveal the Ioniq 5 Facelift in the second quarter (Q2) of this year, with the official launch being slated for a few months later than that.
Expected Price: Rs. 10 lakh to 13 lakh (ex-showroom)
Hyundai’s Inster is an all-electric micro-SUV for the international market, and is a very practical product for people who want a small and reliable car for daily commutes.

To widen its electric portfolio, the brand has announced an upcoming small EV, which is expected to be based on the Inster EV. Just like the global version of the all-electric SUV, the exterior design is expected to be funky and bold, while the interior could feature a large touchscreen system and a digital driver’s display..

The Inster-based EV is expected to offer two battery pack options, providing a maximum driving range of over 300 kms. Once launched in India, it would directly rival the Tata Punch EV, while also giving a tough fight to the Citroen eC3. Hyundai is expected to reveal the India-ready production-spec version of the Inster-based EV during the third quarter (Q3) of the year, while the official launch could take place in the festive season..
Hyundai’s plan for 2026 seems sensible, smart, and safe. Hyundai does not wish to do new experiments; it will rather polish the cars that already have a strong hold in the market by making them even better, so that they become even more appealing. Hyundai has always been one of the strongest and most reliable brands in the country, thanks to its widespread sales and service network, along with good after-sales support. All the cars mentioned here that are getting a facelift are already doing well in their respective segments, and speaking of the two new launches, they are also expected to cater to a wider audience and hence will add diversity to Hyundai’s lineup in India. With all of this information in perspective, we can conclude that these cars look very promising for Hyundai, and if priced and marketed the right way, they could attract the right audience, translate interest into sales, and help secure a stronger market share.
