Just over a month after it was spotted abroad, the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 has now been spied testing in India. This scrambler-esque bike will now be the newest addition in Royal Enfield’s upcoming 650cc bikes’ portfolio along with the Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650.

What’s instantly noticeable up front is a new flyscreen, which could be a part of the brand’s endless list of accessories. Talking about accessories, the mule also has what seems to be an auxiliary light under the front indicators. That said, Royal Enfield has never offered auxiliary lights as an accessory. So that could change with the new breed of 650s, since the Super Meteor 650 too, was spotted with auxiliary lights earlier.

Apart from that, the round side panels that were seen on the international mule have now been replaced with more conventional ones, similar to the units found on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.

The scrambler is likely to be powered by the same air/oil-cooled 648cc parallel twin as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 – albeit with a new two-into-one exhaust routing system, which should ideally be a lighter setup than what’s present on the 650 twins. The output figures are expected to be the same as well, with the twin-cylinder mill making 47.65PS and 52Nm. Other bits like the spoke rims and single discs (front and back), appear to be unchanged as well.

Given that these are initial sightings of this bike, it could hit our roads sometime in the second half of next year. And as for the price, Royal Enfield could price it around the Rs 3.5 to 4 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
