Kawasaki KLX 230 S Launch Date Revealed

Kawasaki India has revealed the launch date of the upcoming KLX 230 S, dual-sport bike. The bike is set to be launched on October 17, 2024. The announcement was shared via social media and here’s everything you need to know.

Recently we had revealed in an exclusive story that unofficial bookings for the Kawasaki KLX 230 S have begun in India and interested customers can book the bike for a price of Rs 10,000. Now, the brand has revealed that they will be bringing something on October 17, 2024 and it will likely be the Kawasaki KLX 230 S. 

Kawasaki KLX 230 S Design

The KLX 230 S will be a dual-sport offering from the Japanese manufacturer and it features a typical dirt bike like design and styling. It gets a raised fender, an overall slim profile, a long-single piece seat and most importantly, long-travel suspension with fork gaiters. 

Powering the KLX 230 S is a 233cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 19PS and 19.8Nm. For perspective, the Hero XPulse 200 4V, which is the KLX 230 S’ closest rival, is powered by a 199.6cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine which outputs 19.1PS and 17.35Nm. Overall, the KLX 230 S produces 0.1PS less but 1.65Nm more.

Kawasaki KLX 230 S Engine

Talking about underpinnings, the KLX 230 S is built on a perimeter frame and is suspended on a telescopic fork and monoshock. The telescopic fork offers 158mm wheel travel and the monoshock offers 168mm wheel travel, with this the bike has total ground clearance of 210mm. Which is 10mm less than the XPulse 200 4V’s ground clearance of 220mm.

The KLX 230 S will be manufactured in Pune, at Kawasaki’s Chakan plant, and this will likely reduce the price significantly when compared to the bike being brought to India a CBU (Completely Built Units). We expect the bike to come at an expected price of around the Rs 2 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
