The prices are likely to go up considerably thanks to the recent amendments to the current FAME II subsidy, and here’s a price list of the popular electric two-wheelers in India

Currently, high-speed electric bikes and electric scooters in India offer an exciting and eco-friendly alternative to traditional petrol-powered vehicles. That said, a major push to this revolution has been the government’s FAME 2 subsidy which has resulted in faster adoption of EVs. However, these subsidies are set to be reduced soon and here’s why. Hence, the right time to buy an e-scooter or an e-bike is now, and here's a quick ready-reckoner of all the popular electric two-wheelers in India:

*Please note: these prices are ex-showroom Delhi including charger and FAME II subsidies except for Hero Vida which offers only on-road prices.

Despite their higher upfront cost compared to conventional scooters, these electric marvels offer significant long-term savings on fuel and maintenance, making them an attractive investment for environmentally conscious riders. However, FAME-II subsidies have played an important role in making these scooters more accessible. But with new FAME II falling into place starting 1st of June, prices for these electric vehicles will soon shoot up.

In hindsight, reducing the subsidy in a gradual manner is still a better move as opposed to stopping the subsidy altogether. The latter would’ve impacted the industry as well as the consumer even more heavily. That said, an earlier heads-up could’ve been given so that manufacturers as well as consumers are more prepared to face the change in market trends.
