You know that feeling when someone you have not seen in years shows up looking all grown-up, confident, and clearly doing really well for themselves? That’s exactly what the new 2025 Audi Q3 feels like.
Gone is the slightly anonymous, quietly capable baby SUV of yesteryear. In its place is a proper, premium SUV that doesn’t try too hard to impress, but somehow does anyway. It’s like your introverted friend who got a haircut, hit the gym, and now wears clothes that actually fit.
Let’s start with the face because it’s a striking one. The 2025 Q3 now gets split LED headlamps, with razor-sharp DRLs sitting above the main units. It’s a design we’ve seen on bigger Audis like the Q6 e-tron, and it brings serious road presence to this compact SUV. The grille is broader, bolder, and framed by angular lines that make the Q3 look more muscular than ever.
Depending on which variant you pick (there’s the standard Q3, the sportier Q3 Sportback, and off-road-ready Edition One trims), you get different bumpers, wheels, and trim accents. All of them look premium.
Oh, and it’s not just design, the Q3 is now longer, wider, and taller than before. Which means it’s not just pretending to be grown-up, it actually is.
On the inside, the first thing you would notice is the lack of fuss. The gear selector has moved to the steering column, freeing up loads of space in the centre console. The dashboard is clean, with sharp edges and subtle layers of trim. It’s minimalist.
Rear passengers now get more legroom, thanks to the longer wheelbase, and boot space has grown to a useful 530 litres (expandable to 1525 litres). Enough for weekend trips, IKEA runs, or impulsive shopping sprees.
Audi didn’t just load the Q3 with tech for the sake of it; they made sure it’s the kind of tech that actually makes everyday life easier and more enjoyable.
It starts with a Digital Cockpit, featuring an 11.9-inch driver display. The centre console houses a crisp 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen that supports natural voice commands and comes paired with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. Audi’s attention to detail shines through in features like ambient lighting with multiple colour profiles, and an optional SONOS premium sound system with 12 speakers that turns your cabin into a private concert.
You also get four USB-C ports, a 12 V socket, and essentials like keyless entry, push-button start, and three-zone climate control for all-round comfort. The panoramic sunroof opens up the cabin, while the electric tailgate with gesture control takes care of your hands-full grocery runs.
Safety and convenience get a further boost with adaptive cruise control and lane assist on higher trims.
But what really could elevate the new Q3’s on-road feel is its new-generation suspension and damper technology. The updated standard suspension now offers a noticeably smoother and more agile ride. Buyers can choose from three suspension setups: a conventional steel-spring layout, a sportier version, and a more advanced two-valve damper control system.
The latter continuously adjusts damping at each wheel in real-time, reacting to the road surface and driver inputs like braking, steering, and acceleration.
Add to that the optional progressive steering, which gets quicker as you turn further, and the Q3 feels surprisingly nimble for a family SUV. It’s these thoughtful mechanical updates that help the Q3 go beyond just looking premium; it actually drives like one.
Globally, the Audi Q3 will be offered with a range of engines:

The plug-in hybrid with a massive 19.7 kWh battery and up to 100 km of pure electric range
The PHEV even supports 50 kW DC fast charging, which is pretty rare for plug-ins. That means you could potentially do your entire work-week commute without using a drop of fuel. And when you do need it, the 1.5-litre TFSI petrol and the 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch are familiar, smooth performers.
For India, expect Audi to stick with the proven 2-litre turbo petrol + quattro AWD combo. We do hope to see the TDI making a comeback!
Audi hasn’t confirmed India timelines yet, but we expect the 2026 Q3 to hit our shores by mid-to-late 2025, maybe after Q3 of 2025 (bad pun :p).
Pricing is likely to nudge upwards from the current Q3’s Rs 45–50 lakh range, especially with all the new tech and design enhancements.
Even so, it will continue to go head-to-head with it’s German counterparts, i.e. the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The current Q3 is nice. But it feels a bit… basic. The new one? It looks smart, spacious, stylish, and oozes that unmistakable Audi polish. It no longer feels like an entry-level compromise; it feels like a legitimate luxury SUV in a compact, city-friendly footprint.
Whether you are upgrading from a compact SUV or downsizing from a bigger SUV, the 2025 Audi Q3 finally feels like the right size, the right package, and, most importantly, the right attitude.
