Deliveries of the MG Windsor EV have begun today on the auspious day of Dussehra. It comes packed with a host of comfort and convenience features, positioning it as a strong alternative to competitors like the Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, and Mahindra XUV400. The hype surrounding this electric crossover has been validated by a rather impressive 15,000 plus number of orders on the very first day.
If you haven’t joined the buzz and booked the popular crossover yet, here are all the essential details you need to know about the car:
MG Windsor EV: Overview
The MG Windsor EV is being offered in three trims, namely Excite, Exclusive and Essence. It sports a unique design that comes painted in four monotone hues: Turquoise Green, Starburst Black, Pearl White and Clay Beige.

On the fascia, it has LED projector headlights with a connected LED DRL. The silhouette is unique with an aerodynamic design along with 18-inch alloy wheels and flush door handles. At the rear, you see the connected LED tail lights, which is the case with all modern cars.

The cabin comes loaded with amenities like a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front row seats with powered adjustment for the driver, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, a large panoramic glass roof, cruise control, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system.

For safety, it gets 6 airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability control (ESC), electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX and a 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors. No ADAS functionality has been provided with the Windsor EV.

The Windsor EV is available in a single 38 kWh battery pack which powers the motor that delivers 136 PS and 200 Nm. With this setup, the car gets a claimed range of up to 332 km. The battery does support fast charging capability of up to 45 kW, which can juice up the battery from 10 to 80% power in 55 minutes.
Prices for it range between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) with which you need to pay Rs 3.5 per km extra as a battery rental fee (depending on the financer). It can also be had inclusive of the battery, prices for which range from Rs 13.5 lakh to Rs 15.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Windsor EV’s pricing puts it in contention with the Tata Punch EV, Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
