The Tata Harrier EV is grabbing attention not just for its off-roading capabilities but also for its feature-loaded cabin. Amongst its well-equipped feature set, the Harrier EV introduces six features that are a first for any Tata car. In this report, we take a closer look at these standout additions, aimed at enhancing convenience, safety, and the overall ownership experience.
Here’s a closer look at the six features debuting with the Tata Harrier EV.
Tata has equipped the Harrier EV with its first-ever digital inside rear view mirror. This electronic unit replaces the conventional mirror by displaying a live feed from a rear-mounted camera. This feature ensures an unobstructed and broader view, especially when there are tall passengers seated in the cabin or the boot is fully packed. It also significantly improves rear visibility in low-light conditions and offers enhanced clarity.

Summon Mode is Tata’s take on remote-controlled parking. With the Harrier EV, you will be able to remotely move the car forward or backward using the key fob. This feature makes it much easier to squeeze into tight parking spots or retrieve the car from cramped areas. Notably, it is the first Tata vehicle to get this semi-autonomous convenience tech.

Building on Summon Mode, the Harrier EV also debuts Auto Park, a self-parking system where the SUV can identify a suitable space and park itself with minimal or no input from the driver. It also includes a Reverse Assist function, which smartly retraces the SUV’s path in reverse (for up to 50 metres), making it easier to exit narrow or crowded spots without stress.

Tata is taking its surround-view camera system to the next level. While Tata models have already featured a 360-degree camera, the Harrier EV introduces a 540-degree camera setup. This adds an additional underbody view of the SUV, giving you a complete perspective of obstacles. It proves a valuable addition during off-roading or when navigating tricky terrain.

Another first for the Harrier EV is the introduction of Boost Mode, a feature that delivers an instant performance boost when needed. This will be especially useful for quick overtakes or highway sprints, tapping into the full potential of the Harrier EV’s electric powertrain.
Tech-savvy buyers will appreciate the large 14.5-inch floating infotainment system offered with the Harrier EV. Until now, Tata models featured up to 12.3-inch touchscreens, but this is the largest display on any Tata vehicle to date. It also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with convenient features like built-in navigation.
