Great Car

The engine of the car stands out as one of the best among its competition. It exhibits almost Electric Vehicle (EV) levels of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) at idle, accompanied by a pleasant note at higher revs. The engine is rev-happy, tractable, and performs well in the mid-range, with a decent low-end as well. While I haven't tested the high end extensively, it seems to have ample power. The Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) is a bit challenging, especially for those accustomed to conventional automatics. However, it proves convenient in city driving, despite being less smooth. Adjusting to the unique characteristics of the engine and gearbox results in instant and higher revs, minimizing jerks over time. Despite being an automatic, it requires a different driving approach. The ride is on the stiffer side, catering to personal preferences. Although not unbearably stiff, it's well-suited for city driving. Despite a low ground clearance, the stiff suspension prevents the car from bottoming out even with a full load. The car features period-correct amenities, but interior quality is average at best, with the Nios model appearing to offer slightly better interiors and more features.

Secure feeling

4.3

Mine was a 2012 model maruti swift vxi model which was heavy on weight and 1.3 lit engine. It was a gem of an engine with lot of stability on highway run and good body control and confidence while driving at high speed.Comfort at front seats were excellent at the time when the car was launch as they were having huge seats and good cushioning for long comfortable journey.Best thing - silent, Heavy built giving confidence of big solid car and rock solid stability on highway at high speed.Worst thing - as it was from maruti so please do not expect a very high quality interior material and rattling sound to definitely come after almost 50k run.Overall performance - excellent in that segment at the time of launch.King of the road. There was a time when almost every 5th car you see on road was swift only.Mileage - as it is maruti you can hardly go wrong on mileage.I got best mileage of 19.3 km per lit and avg as 13 odd in city driving condition.Build quality - heavy and secure feeling but definitely not as per market competitor like hyundai i20vibrations - not any when new but after 50k km run please expect some rattling sound definitely in the vehicle.Features - very poorly loaded car as per the standard during that period.Vxi model came with nothing.(no airbag, No abs as standard, No music system, No steering mounted control obviously), No option of alloy wheel also in case you want one by paying extra as factory standard. No option of automatic at all.(maruti introduced it very late else it would been stellar combination and would have swept the market without a doubt)after sales service - how can you ever go wrong in maruti??? after all india runs on maruti so this was never a question or a doubt.Closing remarks :- i have sold that vehicle now after driving almost 85k kms but if i still like swift very much and an automatic option available is making me drool over it again and again :)thanks and happy reading.

We bought the Maruti Suzuki

We bought home the maruti suzuki swift vxi in july 2019, The car has been an amazing performer till now it has completed 20000 kilometers and is going strong the mileage has been around 20-23 kmpl and the handling is pretty good and the ride quality is average you can feel the bumps and undulations inside the cabin, The outer build quality is average and the interior plastic quality is also not good but manageable, The engine is super refined and nvh levels are well controlled, Space inside the cabin is good for 5 people and the boot space is good too.Overall the car is nice and value for money it just lacks the build quality and solid felling at speeds above 120 kmph you start loosing confidence so it is better to be at speeds below 120 kmph. That's all about this car and the verdict is, It is best car to buy if ypu want a regular city car with occasional highway trips.

Budget Friendly Car

A budget-friendly car with less maintenance and a good engine with good mileage. The driver and co-passenger seats are only comfortable with this car, the backseat is not that much comfortable. The vehicle's body is a bit cheap quality and it doesn't have a rigid feel while driving. This car can go up to 170km/hr but 80 km/ hr is only recommended practically. The interior also looks good but with cheap plastics. Totally a vehicle for the middle class and someone who buys their first car can opt for this car. For them, this car will be a real gem. I am having this car and have driven up to 70k km in 5 years and till now I did not get had any issues with the vehicle. This can run more kilometers, this engine is very good compared to other competitors.
