The first event of the five-round Yamaha YZF-R15 One-Make Race Championship was held at the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. Sixteen riders qualified for the Novice and Open categories.
Sandesh P and Ramesh Kumar shared pole positions in the Novice class races. Shyam Shankar, overall winner of the expert class last year dominated the Open class races while D Dinesh Kumar claimed second place in race 2.

This championship will conclude on September 30. The one-make series features the Yamaha R-15 version 2.0 fitted with Daytona Racing kits. The winner will represent India Yamaha Motor at the Yamaha ASEAN Cup 2012.
