There are a lot of bikes that have gained an iconic status – be it because of their looks or their performance, or both. We take a look at how these would look if they were launched today; from the Yamaha RX 100, to the Triumph 675.

The Yamaha RX 100 was a true pocket rocket, known for its lightweight and rev-happy 2-stroke engine. If it were reincarnated today, we feel it could get a lightweight frame like the original bike, a slim tank, and compact body panels. However, what if it had an electric powertrain?

If the RD350 were reincarnated today, it would be a neo-retro roadster. It could feature the high-revving parallel twin engine from the R3, but it would also get a hybrid system to improve its performance and efficiency. Design-wise, it would feature its original silhouette but would get modern touches like full-LED lighting, a TFT instrument console, ride modes, and even a quickshifter to make gear shifting easier.

The original CBR250R was a true sports tourer, with a powerful engine and nimble handling. If it were reincarnated, it would evolve into an electric sports bike. It would have a large battery pack for a longer range and a powerful motor to munch miles. It would get sharper body panels, a touring windscreen, a TFT display, cruise control, and a lot of other features to make it more touring-friendly.

The Yamaha R6 was a true screamer with its inline 4-cylinder engine. We feel it could evolve into an electric sports bike built for the racetrack. It would feature active aero, top-of-the-line suspension and braking hardware, but instead of a screaming four-cylinder engine, it will be propelled by a powerful electric motor.

The Daytona 675 would retain its iconic three-cylinder engine but would be paired with a hybrid system for additional torque off the bottom. It would retain its frame but would get upgraded suspension and braking hardware. It would get winglets, active aero, and would be packed with features, making it up to date with modern supersport motorcycles.
