The suave luxury scooter is set to be the most expensive scooter to be on sale in India

Vespa 946 Emporio Armani

Ever thought a Vespa is too plane-jane for your style-conscious image and does not go well with your Versace dress and Prada handbag? Well, Piaggio might just have the scooter for you. The Vespa 946 is the modern reinterpretation of the timeless scooter. This limited edition version is influenced by none other than Emporio Armani. The Scooter might be based on the ‘humble’ 125cc Vespa but has been redesigned to give it a sort of timeless appeal. The aluminum body panels get galvanic treatment with a unique satin finish ‘Armani Gray’ hue that put out a unique sheen.

The ‘Emporio Armani’ name sits on the side with a Vespa 946 logo on the front and the Armani logo sits on top of the headlamp so you don’t forget what you are riding. The design is an amalgamation of retro and futuristic lines and elements like the LED headlamps and tail lamps, full LCD dashboard, front and rear disc brakes and an electronics package consisting of ABS and traction control so that you don’t fall off and damage more than your expensive Gucci’s.We personally liked the use of brown leather on the handgrip covers and single seat. You can also go in for a handcrafted leather bag that latches on to the rear luggage carrier.

The scooter will come in as a CBU import so expect prices to be stratospheric (around the 7.5 lakh range) but then given the limited edition run and the exclusivity the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani edition makes more sense as an art form and would probably look good standing inside the mansion of the super wealthy or inside a neo-futuristic museum. Art collectors, here is your opportunity to invest into a form of kinetic, mechanical, sensory artform. The bike is being launched on the 15th of November along with a special 70th Anniversary edition Vespa that commemorates the 70 years of the iconic scooter.
