Royal Enfield’s success can be attributed to the retro-styled Classic range of motorcycles which has been very popular among Indian bikers. The Classic series register sales close to 40,000 units with the 350cc variant compromising of the lions share. The Thunderbird 350 and Thunderbird 500 remains among the most popular cruiser motorcycles to be sold in India. Though, we must add that the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Continental GT have struggled to post decent sales figure especially the later. RE is also working on developing a parallel-twin cylinder motorcycle with a rumoured displacement of 700cc, the upcoming Royal Enfield twin-cylinder has been spotted testing in India and Europe. It is most likely to be unveiled at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show later this year with a probable India launch in early 2018.
