Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Moto Guzzi showcased the V85 Tutto Terreno , an adventure tourer motorcycle, at Auto Expo 2020. It is now on sale in India at Rs 12.64 lakh (ex-showroom) via the CBU route. However, the V85 TT is a Euro4 (BS4) compliant bike. That gives Moto Guzzi very limited time (around 40 days) to import the bike and hand them over to customers so that they can register their motorcycles well before the March 31 deadline for registering BS4 bikes. Post April 1, only BS6 bikes will be eligible for registration across the country. We’ve reached out to the company for further details on how it plans to deliver the bikes on time to customers and will update this report as soon as we hear from them.

The V85 Tutto Terreno (all-terrain) is an important motorcycle for Moto Guzzi as it marks the Italian bikemaker’s re-entry into the adventure bike territory after the Stelvio 1200. From the onset, the V85 TT looks rugged and purposeful. It gets a retro white and yellow livery with an exposed subframe painted in red. The adventure motorcycle gets a raised front mudguard, a tall windscreen and knuckle guards. At 229kg, the V85 TT’s kerb weight is on par with other European adventure motorcycles like the Triumph Tiger 800 and BMW F 850 GS. Given its adventure intentions, the V85 TT gets a large 23-litre fuel tank. Features include all-LED lighting and a comprehensive 4.3-inch full TFT instrument console.
In true Moto Guzzi tradition, the V85 TT gets a transversely mounted air-cooled V-twin motor with the two-cylinder heads sticking out of both sides of the bike. It delivers 80PS and 80Nm. Power like other Moto Guzzi bikes is delivered to the rear wheel via shaft drive. So expect a unique ride experience. Electronic rider aids include three riding modes, traction control and cruise control.
For adventure, the V85 TT gets a trellis frame with adjustable long travel suspension. It gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels with tube-type dual-purpose tyres. Braking is via twin 320mm discs and a 260mm rear disc.
The Moto Guzzi V85 TT will compete with the Triumph Tiger 800 XR (Rs 12 lakh) and BMW F 850 GS (Rs 12.95 lakh) in India.
