Honda has issued a recall for three of its most popular automatic scooters, the Honda Activa 125, Honda Grazia and the Honda Aviator, for a suspected quality issue relating to the front telescopic forks. As a precautionary measure, Honda has announced that it will voluntarily inspect the suspected quality part, a bolt flange (10X42), mounted in the front fork of 56,194 units of the above-mentioned scooters manufactured between February 7 and March 16, 2017.

Honda service centres across India will replace the suspected part, if required, on a free-of-cost basis without affecting the warranty status of the vehicles. If you have purchased one of the above-mentioned scooters around that timeline, you can click on the link here to check if your scooter is affected and is a part of the recall. All you need to do is enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the campaign section of Honda’s official website. Apart from this, owners of the affected scooters should also receive a text message, email or a phone call from the company.
It is worth mentioning that Honda’s scooters that continue to use the age-old bottom link suspension up front are unaffected by this issue and therefore, customers owning these models can heave a sigh of relief. These scooters include the Activa 5G, Activa i, the Honda Dio and the Honda Cliq.

The Activa 5G, which was launched on March 14, 2018, gets an LED headlamp and a semi-digital instrument console on the Deluxe variant. The Honda Activa 125 has been around for quite a while now. This family-oriented scooter shares its powertrain with the more youthful Honda Grazia. The Honda Aviator, on the other hand, is a 110cc scooter that shares its engine with the Activa 5G.
