Hero MotoCorp, the world's single largest two-wheeler motorcycle manufacturer, based out of India, has just crossed the 70 million (7 crore) sales mark for two-wheelers. The company’s last sales record was around 50 million (5 crore) units, which was recorded back in August 2013, which means that the company rolled out over 20 million (2 crore) motorcycles and scooters over the last three years. That's a lot! And to celebrate this landmark, Hero has just introduced a limited edition of its newly launched Achiever 150.
To celebrate the achievement, the limited-edition Achiever 150 gets a special colour scheme with tricolour graphics on a base white shade. Interestingly, the 70 million figure corresponds with the 70th anniversary of India's independence. The company will make only 70 units of the limited-edition bike, which will be available in the dealerships across the nation.

Pawan Munjal, chairman, MD and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, said, "The 70 million cumulative production is special because this has been possible due to our sustained leadership performance. This is a proud moment not just for us as a Company, but also for the entire nation, especially with the Prime Minister's focus on the 'Make in India' initiative. However, instead of resting on our laurels, we are now gearing up for the next Big Milestone of 100 Million cumulative production."

Hero currently has four manufacturing plants in India (Gurgaon, Dharuhera, Neemrana and Haridwar) and one in Colombia. The company is currently manufacturing over eight million (80 lakh) units annually. Hero has also confirmed that its manufacturing unit in Bangladesh will begin production by the first half of 2017 and will have the capacity to produce 1.5 lakh units annually. The company also has plans to set up a plant in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, which will have the capacity to produce 5 lakh units in a year. Hero Motocorp now hopes to reach the next sales milestone, i.e., 100 million (10 crore) units in the near future.
