The baby Harley could make its maiden debut at 2020 EICMA

  • The upcoming small-capacity Harley-Davidson will be built in China.
  • It is expected to be launched in India by 2021.
  • Could be powered by a twin-cylinder 338cc motor.
  • A few months ago, Harley-Davidson had announced that it was planning to manufacturer a small-capacity motorcycle for developing markets in South East Asia (especially countries like China and India). Earlier, we had suspected that the company might go with an Indian bike maker to develop the new low-cost motorcycle, but instead, it teamed up with China-based Qianjiang. Although the upcoming motorcycle will not be manufactured in India, we might get it as soon as 2021 as Harley-Davidson has announced it has completed the design process of the bike and it will soon head to the production line!

Neither Harley-Davidson or Qianjiang has released any images of the production-spec bike. All we have are the sketches that Harley-Davidosn had released earlier this year. Qianjiang is also responsible for manufacturing Benelli motorcycles. So there is a high possibility that the upcoming baby Harley will get a twin-cylinder 338cc Benelli motor underneath the skin.

For now, the upcoming small-capacity Harley-Davidson is referred to as ‘HD350 Project.’ However, whether the company will use this name in the production bike or not is yet to be known. The new baby Harley-Davidson could make its official debut at the 2020 EICMA where we might get to see the production version of the Pan America and the Bronx as well. When launched, the upcoming entry-level twin-cylinder Harley-Davidson could be priced at around Rs 3.0 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
