If information given to us is accurate, the bike could launch tomorrow

  • The updated Classic will receive fuel injection, could lose engine output.
  • Some variants will also get alloy wheels as standard.
  • Prices have gone up by more than Rs 14,000!
  • Anticipation is reaching a fever pitch for the BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the latest development is the updated bike’s price. According to information obtained by us, Royal Enfield will hike the price by more than Rs 14,000! Ex-showroom prices for the Gunmetal Grey variant of the BS6 Classic 350 will start at Rs 1,66,906, making it Rs 14,251 more expensive than the BS4 version. So why such a substantial increment? Well, units have been arriving at dealerships over the last week, revealing some very interesting details.

First off, the updated Classic gets fuel injection to help it comply with BS6 norms. This is evidenced by a metal plate where the carburettor would previously be seen, as well as an oxygen sensor on the exhaust header, indicating that this is a closed-loop fuel injection system. Also new is an additional catalytic converter seen on the exhaust downtube, once again to clean up tailpipe emissions.

Certain variants of the Classic will also get alloy wheels as standard for the first time (we believe Gunmetal Grey will be one of these), while others like the Signals edition will continue to roll on wire-spoke units. Moreover, Royal Enfield will also be introducing two new colour schemes for the BS6 Classic 350, which will be priced at Rs 1,79,605 (ex-showroom). That’s not all, though. If our information is accurate, the brand could launch the updated bike as early as tomorrow! Stay tuned to Zigwheels for more updates.
