Honda had revealed its plans of introducing a couple of new bikes in India during the launch presentation of the H’Ness CB350. Among the lineup stood what looked like the silhouette of the CB1000R. Honda has now followed this up with a teaser video of the 2021 CB1000R. Though the video gives out very little, we were able to decrypt a couple of changes on the new bike.

First and foremost is the headlight. While it retains its signature horseshoe design, it has been tweaked to look a bit sharper. Secondly, the Honda badging that splits the headlight now appears to be a bit smaller than before.

In fact, the entire headlight assembly seems to be more angled for a sleeker look and now gets a flyscreen which may be offered as standard. The flyscreen was earlier only available on the ‘Plus’ model. Look closer and you’ll notice the triple clamp and fork clamp have been finished in black rather than silver. Pan to the side and the first thing that grabs your attention is the redesigned side panels that sit right below the tank and cover the fuel injectors.
Last but not the least, the side view reveals new W-spoke wheels that replace the traditional Y-spoke design.

Don’t expect any major developments when it comes to the engine. It’s likely to retain the same 998cc inline four-cylinder motor that makes 145.48PS at 10,500rpm and 104Nm at 8250rpm. It’s likely to comply with both Euro 5 and BS6 emission norms.
Expect Honda to launch the updated CB1000R in India in the early weeks of 2021. It’ll take on the upcoming Suzuki Katana.
