The Hyundai Creta Electric has been recently revealed in pictures and brand films, with its prices set to be announced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where we will finally see the car in person. The electric iteration of India’s beloved Creta SUV bears design resemblance to its ICE counterpart and comes decently equipped with a host of features for comfort, convenience, and safety, many of which are carried over from the fuel-powered Creta. In this story, we take a closer look at all these features:
The Hyundai Creta Electric inherits the dual 10.25-inch displays from its ICE counterpart—one for infotainment and the other for the digital driver’s display. The infotainment system supports wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, just like the regular Creta. An added feature in the Creta Electric is in-car payment for EV charging, which is accessible via the infotainment system.

Both the ICE and electric versions of the Creta come equipped with a panoramic sunroof. While this feature has evolved from being a much desired to a standard offering in cars nowadays especially in the stature of a Creta nameplate, it does lift the cabin's ambience, provided it is used wisely for its intended purpose.

The Creta Electric retains ventilated front-row seats, a feature also present in the regular Creta. This ensures enhanced comfort for the driver and front passenger, especially during drives in warm or humid weather conditions.

The Creta Electric is equipped with dual-zone climate control, allowing the driver and front co-passenger to independently set their preferred cabin temperatures. This feature, already present in the ICE version, contributes to improved comfort and better energy efficiency in the EV.

An 8-speaker Bose audio system is seen in both the Creta Electric and ICE variants. This premium system includes a front central speaker and a subwoofer, delivering superior audio quality. Additionally, it supports JioSaavn music streaming, providing a seamless entertainment experience.

Safety is a priority in the Creta Electric, which, like its ICE sibling, comes with six airbags as standard across all variants. This ensures better occupant protection, regardless of the trim level.

The Creta Electric is fitted with a 360-degree camera system, complete with blind spot monitoring. This system offers a comprehensive view of the vehicle, making parking and navigating tight spaces more manageable. Front parking sensors are also included for added convenience.

Hyundai has equipped the Creta Electric with Level-2 ADAS features, introduced in the 2024 facelift of the ICE model. Key features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning.

The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), shared with the ICE variant, actively monitors tyre pressure and provides real-time alerts to the driver in case of any irregularities, ensuring better safety and maintenance.

Both the Creta Electric and ICE versions are equipped with all-wheel disc brakes for enhanced stopping power. An Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with an auto-hold function further adds convenience and saves space on the centre console. The auto-hold feature is particularly useful on steep inclines, preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards.

We’ll have to wait until the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, starting on January 17, to get an up-close look at the Hyundai Creta Electric, along with details about its variants and pricing. The SUV will be available with two battery pack options: a 42 kWh, paired with a 135 PS electric motor, offering an ARAI-claimed range of 390 km and a 51.4 kWh, paired with a 171 PS electric motor, delivering an ARAI-claimed range of 473 km.

The Hyundai Creta Electric is expected to be priced at around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the likes of the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
