Keeway has launched its Hypevolt-R electric scooter, positioning the new model as a premium offering with a focus on extended range, performance, and a unique suite of car-like safety features.

Dual removable batteries
Keeway is presenting the Hypevolt-R's dual-battery system as a solution for both extended range and practical, flexible charging.
Two removable battery packs power the scooter, with a combined capacity of 5.04kWh. Their output has been IDC-certified at 180km on a single charge. Owners can pull both packs out and charge them indoors, which helps riders in apartments or without a dedicated charging point. With an optional rapid charger, Keeway claims a 0-to-80-percent top-up takes just 3 hours. Under the seat sits 27 litres of storage.

ADAS features, scooter class
The company is highlighting the inclusion of advanced electronic aids, suggesting a new level of safety technology for the Indian electric scooter segment.
Keeway has packed the Hypevolt-R with electronic rider aids rarely seen on Indian two-wheelers. Blind spot detection, a rear parking camera, and a rear collision warning system all come standard. Hill hold and descent control functions, along with cruise control, are included as well. Car-segment ADAS territory, in other words. A 5-inch TFT screen pulls together data from all these systems. For conventional safety, the scooter gets dual-channel ABS and traction control.

Motor and performance specs
Keeway's specifications point to a performance-oriented electric scooter capable of handling both city commutes and highway riding.
Under the bodywork, a motor puts out 6kW continuous and peaks at 12kW, with 72Nm of peak torque. The manufacturer claims a maximum speed of 115kmph. In Sport mode, 0-40kmph takes 2.3 seconds. The Ather 450 Apex and Simple One sit in the same segment. Hypevolt also claims 30-degree gradability which is quite a lot for an electric scooter.

Price, booking details
The Hypevolt-R has been introduced with an introductory price, with bookings now open through all official channels. Keeway has announced an introductory price of Rs 1,99,000 (ex-showroom) for the Hypevolt-R. Bookings are open at Rs 5,000, via the Keeway India website or at authorised dealerships.
