Apart from the new front-end design, the Aura’s aesthetics are unchanged from before. It gets the same silhouette, alloy wheels and rear-end styling as before. Even on the inside, the overall dashboard design and layout haven’t changed, save for the use of beige in the lower half.

Important safety and feature updates

The Hyundai Aura gets a new instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch multi-information display (MID) replacing the semi-digital unit of the pre-facelift car. It also gets new footwell lighting, automatic headlights and USB type-C chargers, and continues to be offered with an eight-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start-stop, keyless entry, voice recognition and cruise control.

Previously, the Aura was limited to dual front airbags, but it now gets up to six airbags (four as standard). It also offers ISOFIX child-seat anchors, a highline tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), reverse parking camera and rear defogger.

Powertrains

The Aura only gets a 83PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine now, available with a standard five-speed manual gearbox. It’s also offered with an AMT and manual-CNG options. The engine puts out 69PS when driven in CNG mode.

The updated Aura sedan continues to rival the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor. With the revised safety updates, the Aura facelift now makes for a more compelling case than before.
