2021 has well and truly been the year of electric scooters. And the latest entrant in this segment is the EeVe Soul, the Bhubaneshwar-based start-up’s flagship scooter. Let’s take a look at it.
What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?
EeVe has priced the Soul at Rs 1,39,900 (ex-showroom), though the company hasn’t revealed whether this price includes the FAME-II subsidy.
Either way, at this price, the EeVe Soul goes against premium electric scooters like the Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X, both of which undercut it. Meanwhile, more affordable alternatives to the EeVe Soul include the TVS iQube Electric and the Ola S1.

What Does It Pack?
The Soul is an all-new offering from EeVe. It gets a sporty design with an angry-looking fascia, courtesy the edgy LED DRL strips. This is complemented by a dual-tone red/white bodywork all around.
As for features, the EeVe Soul offers phone connectivity, for alerts such as an anti-theft lock and geo-fencing, and even GPS navigation. Also on offer are a USB port, reverse mode, and keyless start. However, unlike the TFTs we see on scooters in this price range, this one gets a rather basic LCD instrument cluster.

The EeVe Soul is powered by a hub-mounted 1.2kW Bosch motor, mated to two Lithium Ferrous Phosphate batteries. The company claims a top speed and max range of 60kmph and 120km, respectively. But the latter can be achieved only in the Eco mode, which limits the speed to 40kmph.
Like the recently launched Bounce E1, the batteries are housed under the seat, which leaves no space for any other essentials, a big setback compared to its rivals. The batteries are swappable, though, and can be fully charged in around four hours.

And if you’re concerned about longevity, EeVe offers a three-year warranty for the Soul.
As for underpinnings, the EeVe Soul rolls on 12-inch wheels, clamped by single disc brakes front and rear, and sprung on a telescopic fork up front and twin shocks out back.
ZigSays
From what we know so far, the EeVe Soul seems like a good electric scooter for commuting in the city. But at Rs 1.39 lakh, it is quite pricey and lacks top-shelf features, which other scooters in this price range offer. But again, we don’t know whether this is with or without FAME-II, so there’s hope of a significant price cut.
