Citroen India has announced that bookings for its upcoming offering, the C3 Aircross, will open from September onwards. Deliveries for the 3-row 2023 Kia Seltos facelift rival are slated to commence from October. And as for its prices, they’re expected to be out soon. The C3 Aircross is developed specifically for India and will head to specific export markets.

It is a smart looking SUV. Up front, the headlamps and DRLs are lifted from the C3 and flank a larger grille. A minimalistic bumper with skid plates rounds off the overall front-end, which looks like a mini C5 Aircross. In profile, the chunky cladding and large alloys gives it a beefy stance, while the rear-end gets LED tail lamps.

The overall design and layout of the cabin is similar to the C3. But bespoke touches such as different colour schemes and finishes distinguish it from the hatch. You can pick up the C3 Aircross either as a 5-seater or a 7-seater. And if you opt for the latter, the third row seats are removable so you can liberate more boot space.

In terms of features, you get just the basics, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual AC, a digital driver’s display, steering-mounted audio controls, electronically operated ORVMs and roof mounted AC vents with adjustable blower speed for second and third-row people.
Safety kit consists of multiple airbags, electronic stability control and rear parking sensors with camera.

Powering the Citroen C3 Aircross is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, teamed with a 6-speed manual transmission. This is the only powertrain available as of now.

We suspect its pricing to start from around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). The C3 Aircross will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, 2023 Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara as well as 3-row offerings such as Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/XL6.
