Citroen has been busy in India over the past few months. After the launch of the new Basalt SUV-coupe and updates to the C3 Hatchback, the French carmaker has launched the 2024 C3 Aircross. Firstly, the car has been renamed as the “Citroen Aircross” and the C3 moniker has been dropped from its name. The refreshed Aircross is now more affordable and brings in some important features which significantly improves the value that the car offers as a whole. It now also gets a new naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is shared with the Basalt and C3. Let’s take a look at what’s new:
Before we begin, a point to note is that bookings are open for the Citroen Aircross, while deliveries will start from October 8, 2024.

As seen above, the Aircross has now become more accessible by Rs 1.5 lakh and the reason for this is the introduction of the naturally aspirated petrol engine. While some variants of the Aircross have been discontinued, pricing for the variants that have been carried forward has increased by around Rs 40,000.
If you want the 7-seater version that is offered in the Plus and Max variants, you will have to pay an extra Rs 35,000. Also note that the 7-seater configuration is only available with the Turbo variants.
Design-wise, the Aircross remains unchanged and retains the exact same look. The only new addition to the exterior is the LED projector headlights which makes the SUV feel more modern now, and also improves the brightness.
The key additions are inside the cabin, which adds to the comfort, convenience and safety factors. To begin with, it now gets an automatic climate control with rear AC vents. Yes, this feature is available with almost all similarly priced vehicles and Citroen is late to the party, but better late than never.
The cabin now also features a centre armrest for improved comfort and the power windows are now positioned on the door, which makes usability of it more convenient. The safety kit has been improved as the Aircross now gets 6 airbags as standard and seat belt reminders for all passengers.

Other features on board include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted audio controls, rear parking camera with sensors and hill start assist.
Apart from feature additions, there are mechanical changes as well. Along with the 110 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, you now also get an 82 PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine is offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Citroen Aircross competes with the mid-spec variants of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Honda Elevate. It is also an alternative to the Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt.
