Aircross X: What’s New?

Spot the difference? At first glance, the Citroen Aircross X looks nearly identical to the standard model. The only addition on the outside are the LED projector fog lights, while elements like V-shaped LED DRLs, projector LED headlights, and wraparound C-shaped tail lights remain unchanged. It continues to get 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and gets silver finished front and rear skid plates for a rugged appeal. There's an ‘Aircross X’ badging on the tailgate so that it can be easily identified as a more feature equipped variant. The Aircross X also introduces a new Deep Forest Green exterior colour option.

Step inside, and the Aircross X looks fresh, almost like a facelift. It gets a more premium looking dual-tone tan and black interior theme, complemented by soft-touch leatherette inserts on the dashboard and door panels. The seats are now upholstered in tan leatherette, while new footwell and ambient lighting add a modern touch. Citroen has also redesigned the central AC vents inside the Aircross X, as seen on the Basalt X.

Feature Enhancements

Apart from footwell and ambient lights, the Aircross X now has a bezel-less 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, push button engine start/stop, auto-dimming IRVM (inside rear view mirror), and CARA (Citroen’s voice assistance system). Notably, Cara can understand a total of 52 Indian and global languages, and can be used for several functionalities like lights, door locks, changing music, and calls. It can also be used to get flight status, navigation, and updates like cricket scores. It also has voice SOS, including crash alerts, and emergency assistance.

ZigSays...

Following in the footsteps of the C3 X and Basalt X, the Aircross X aims to rejuvenate itself by making the in-cabin experience a lot more premium. With the recent 5-stars BNCAP crash test rating and now this new range with more features, style revisions and a new name, the Aircross X has become a lot more competitive. That being said, it needs a lot more to compete with segment leaders like the Creta. However, with these new additions it provides a lot of value-for-money and with the 7-seat variants offers a lot of flexibility too.
