From a scooter to a few premium motorcycles, this month has something for everyone

Last month witnessed as many as seven new two-wheeler launches and this month too looks as promising. Here’s a look at the upcoming launches for this month:

2022 KTM RC 390

Expected Price: Rs 2.70 lakh

We have been waiting for KTM’s biggest supersport in India for quite a while now. This delay has been largely due to the shortage of chipsets and it seems like KTM has finally managed to fix that. The 2022 KTM RC 390 packs a bigger airbox, redesigned chassis and even lighter wheels and braking hardware. All the changes could result in an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.70 lakh.

2022 KTM 390 Adventure

Expected Price:

The 390 Adventure too has been affected by the chipset shortage and KTM will finally commence dispatching the updated ADV this month. Some units were already dispatched a few months ago, however, the Austrian marque hasn’t been able to deliver more owing to the chipset shortage.

TVS NTorq 125 Race XT

Expected Price: Rs 93,000

TVS teased the upcoming variant of the sporty 125cc scooter this week and it is likely to launch it in the coming week. While not much can be said about the specifications, the teaser reveals a new alloy wheel design which could be lighter than the current model’s. Expect the TVS NTorq 125 Race XT to cost a premium of Rs 3,000 - 4,000 over the current top-spec Race XP variant.

Triumph Tiger 1200

Expected Price: Rs 19 lakh Onwards

The British marque’s biggest cat will debut in the first week of this month to take on the BMW R 1250 GS and Adventure. While globally the Tiger 1200 is available in five trims, our market is likely to get the top-of-the-line Explorer variants for the GT and the Rally models. The Explorer variants flaunt a massive 30-litre fuel tank and radar-based electronic aids. We expect the bike to priced around Rs 19 lakh to take on the Bavarian bike.

Ducati Scrambler 800 Urban Motard

Expected Price: Rs 9.5 lakh

Ducati’s onslaught in the Indian market continues, and for this month, we’ll have the Scrambler 800 Urban Motard grace our roads. The Urban Motard is sort of a cross between the Scrambler Icon and the Hypermotard, bringing the bratiness of the Hypermotard 950 with the practicality of the Scrambler. The only changes for this variant are 17-inch spoke rims and Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres. Ducati could price this bike around Rs 9.5 lakh.

Keeway K-light Series

Expected Price: Rs 5.5 lakh

We have received a mysterious “Block Your Date” invite for a new Hungarian brand setting foot in India. For the uninitiated, Keeway is owned by Zhejiang Qianjiang Motors, which also owns Benelli. So, expect platform sharing between the two brands. Keeway has teased a cruiser, which is likely to be based on the Benelli 502 C. Expect this bike to be launched by mid-May.
