Tata Motors has fully revealed the exterior and interior of the Punch facelift, ahead of its launch on 13 January. While previously, the carmaker had given us a sneak peek into the feature list, we also got to know that it will get a new turbo-petrol powertrain as well! As we await the full details, this is what the latest show:
From the pictures released today, we can see that the Punch has undergone a major makeover for its exterior design. At the front, you have a completely new fascia, with a slimmer grille and new DRL signatures. Below that, we also see a new vertically-stacked headlamp cluster like the one from the Punch EV. The bumper has also been reworked and now features a much larger lower air dam, more extensive cladding and a faux silver skid plate.

Moving on to the side profile, the changes here are less prominent, with a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels being the only major upgrade.

For the rear-end, as we saw in teasers, it gets a new connected LED taillamp cluster with black casing, just like the Altroz. Below, the rear bumper also gets redesigned with new reflector strips and revised cladding.

Inside the Punch facelift, we get to see a dual-tone light blue-charcoal upholstery, along with a new dashboard with a white insert, also from the Punch EV.

We also see a new touch-based climate control panel shared with siblings like the Nexon and a new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo as well.

Now that we have a closer look at the Punch facelift, we can confirm that it will get features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with a new user interface and a fully-digital instrument cluster (shared with the Altroz). It is also likely to be equipped with features such as an 8-speaker sound system, height-adjustable driver seat, voice-enabled electric sunroof, wireless charger and USB-C fast charging ports.

Safety-wise, we can now confirm that the Punch facelift will be equipped with 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, 3-point seatbelts for all occupants, reverse parking sensors and hill descent control in addition to other expected features such as electronic stability control and hill hold assist.

Under the hood, the facelifted Punch is likely to be powered by 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and turbo-petrol engines, both of which could be offered with manual and automatic transmission options. Notably, it could also get the i-CNG versions with the NA petrol, which is offered on the current car with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Here are the specifications of the engines on the current Punch, along with expected figures for the turbo-petrol:

The facelifted Tata Punch is all set to be launched later this month, on 13 January. While we await the official launch, we expect the Punch facelift to be priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will rival other SUVs like the Maruti Fronx, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3 and Renault Kiger.
Tata has taken this opportunity to give the Punch a thorough refresh, and the new updates go a long way in making it feel more contemporary and upmarket. The design looks sharper, the interiors are fresher, and the longer feature list makes it a lot more attractive. Now, all eyes are on the prices, which will be revealed later this month.
