Tata Punch facelift

After confirming a full design overhaul, along with some key details, Tata Motors has dropped another teaser for the Punch facelift, this time around confirming that it will get a new turbo-petrol engine, along with some new features that are making their way into the micro-SUV. Let’s take a look at what the teaser shows:

2026 Tata Punch Facelift Teased; New Engine And Features Revealed!

Tata has taken feedback from buyers and finally given the facelifted Punch a new, more powerful engine, which will solve what is perhaps its weakest link. In this new teaser, we get to see an i-Turbo badge, along with a 6-speed manual transmission, confirming that it will get the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is offered with the Nexon, and previously with the Altroz Racer too.

Besides this new powertrain option, the teaser also reveals a new digital instrument cluster, similar to the one found on the Altroz, a new interface for the 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a redesigned dashboard with a new climate control panel from siblings like the Nexon, Sierra and Curvv.

Notably, this panel also shows buttons for Hill Descent Control and a 360-degree camera. It could also get extendable thigh support for the driver seats, like the Sierra as well.

2026 Tata Punch Facelift: Launch Date, Price And Rivals

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Punch facelift on 13 January, 2026. While we await the announcement of the price list, we expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Punch facelift will go up against other micro SUVs like the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, Renault Kiger, Maruti Ignis and Nissan Magnite.

ZigSays…

The Tata Punch has been a stellar performer in the market, and this comprehensive facelift, along with a more powerful engine, will help address its weak point, furthering its appeal even more. That said, given the cost-conscious segment it operates in, Tata must ensure that the price hits the sweet spot.
