The Tata Punch was first launched in 2021, and ever since then, it has been one of Tata Motors' top-selling products in the Indian market. Now, to build upon the legacy, Tata has given the Punch a major facelift, which brings with it a host of new updates.
The all-new Tata Punch comes with an enhanced look, a modern and upmarket cabin, some new features, and most importantly, a new turbo petrol engine. But what exactly are all the changes compared to the outgoing model? Here’s a quick look at them side by side:
The exterior styling of the Tata Punch has always been one of its strongest selling points. Right from when it was first introduced in 2021, the Punch was clearly the smartest-looking in its class. With the new model being launched, it boasts several cosmetic upgrades, while the overall silhouette of the car remains unchanged, which means there are no changes dimensionally.

Starting from the front, it now gets a more muscular profile with a chunky new front bumper and a sleeker grille than before, with the DRLs. Moving down, the bumper houses a larger lower air dam, along with thick cladding and a faux silver skid plate as well. It also gets vertical air flaps on the outer edges for better aerodynamics. What’s also new here is a vertically-stacked headlamp cluster with LED headlights.

At the side, it continues with the thick body claddings, roof rails, and the rear door handles have been mounted behind the windows to mimic a sporty ‘two-door’ look. It also gets a new design for the 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The ORVMs are now slightly larger, and the higher variants can be had in a dual-tone colour scheme as well.

At the rear, the most noticeable change is the introduction of connected LED taillights with a black casing. The tailgate design is very similar to the outgoing model, but the rear integrated spoiler is now larger and comes finished in a black colour.

The bumper has also been reworked with a muscular look to match the overall aesthetic with thick claddings, a faux silver skid plate at the bottom, and a new reflector design.

One of the major changes to the new Punch has been made to the interior. It now boasts a new dashboard in a dual-tone finish, with white inserts on the door pads as well. You also get to seea new twin-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo in the centre, something which we have seen in other Tata cars like the Altroz and Punch EV . The Punch facelift has also moved to a new touch-based climate control panel, along with a new digital instrument cluster which help uplift the ambience

The updates are not just limited to the styling or new features; Tata has also worked to enhance seat comfort for occupants. It offers extended thigh support and centre armrest for both front and rear seats, rear AC vents, and a new upholstery colour scheme too..

Tata is known for offering best-in-segment features in its products, and the new Punch is no different. It now gets equipped with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, an 8-speaker sound system, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

Features that are carried over from the outgoing Punch include automatic air conditioning, push-button start, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, multiple drive modes, and electrically adjustable ORVM.

In terms of safety onboard, the Punch now gets 6 airbags as standard along with features such as a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and three-point seatbelts with reminders for all occupants.

Notably, it also has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating which further boosts its safety credentials.

The facelifted Punch sees the addition of a new turbo petrol engine in its lineup, while continuing with the same other engine options as the pre-facelift model. These engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which can also be had with a bi-fuel CNG option, and a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine.

This time around, however Tata has also decided to offer an AMT transmission with the CNG-powered trims too, which will be an attractive proposition for buyers clocking with high usage in dense urban confines.
